Wanted to get your opinions about this setting that I''m trying to get remade. The original is on the left and the remake is on the right. The original is sz 7.5 and fits a 1ct round in the center. But I needed it in size 4.5 and wanted the center stone to be 1.25ct. So I got a local jeweler to remake it. I just want to know what you guys think.
1. Is it possible to remake the original as a smaller size and with a bigger center stone, without the proportions getting all funky?
2. Does the remake look good?
3. Can I modify the remake they made to get it to look closer like the original?
4. Am I better off starting over? And go with a simpler setting that will look good in a smaller size?
My girlfriend saw this setting and instantly fell in love with it, but it was just the wrong size. Thanks in advance.
