Help with cushion

Hello! I think my boyfriend and I are getting ready to start ring shopping.... I really want a cushion cut (rounded rectangle) in a micropave setting. I have no idea what all these things mean with numbers and letters! What should I be looking for. I want a somewhat large (1-2 carat), but affordable... (5-8,000- is that possible?!). HELP- any info would be great so we don''t look like idiots when we go shopping!

I would recommend you contact Mark at www.engagementringsdirect.com , if you are open to buying online, tell him what you are looking for, and let him work for you. He has sourced some fabulous cushion cuts for PSers. He may be able to provide the setting you like too.

As to the diamond, perhaps concentrate on GIA graded G to H colour, and VS2 to SI1 clarity, even SI2 could be fine if verified eyeclean. As to the cushion itself, you really can't tell much by numbers, so use your eyes to see what type you like if looking in stores.
