I''ve spent about two months educating myself, and this site has been those most helpful tool I''ve found by far. I''m working with someone that is highly recommended on here, and so far the experience has been great. I''d really appreciate some advice before I go any further. The following is one I''m focusing on now.

2.02 Asscher
H Color
VS2
Symmetry: Very Good
No Flourescence
Depth: 68.4
Table: 61

$14,425.00 -- Fair????

What does everyone think? I don''t have any pics yet but will post when I do.

A picture would also help..., and we can go on from there.... (allthough fancy shaped diamonds you ought to see with you own eyes.)

Sorry, I meant to include that info.

GIA
Polish: Excellent
Measurements: 7.00 X 7.00 X 4.79 mm

I would love to see this in person, but that''s one of the disadvantages of doing this via the internet. I''m really hung up on this problem also. It seems like the local jewelers don''t want to compete with what you can find on the internet, nor do they seem to have the inventory.

the numbers seem good, except i forgot to ask, but it seems to have a very thick girdle according to the measurements..., am i correct?

price is good.
numbers look good
Need pictures to tell you more as you know from reading here :}

I have the picture now, but have no program to reduce the size so I can attach it. Help!

I like it.
kinda wierd lighting and some tilt in the photo but the signs are there of a nice asscher.
The windmills could be a bit better shaped but overall I like it.

Thanks Strmrdr! Now, I have another dilemma, and I would be extremely happy if some of you can give me your opinions. I attached a picture from another thread earlier in the year. My girlfriend loves both cuts, and now I''m stuck between something like the picture I attached, which is a cushion, or an asscher. Unfortunately, I don''t have a picture of an asscher in this setting. If any of you can post one that would be awesome. Of course, I''ve seen many asschers in the pave - halo mounting, but I really love the dainty antique look of this one. What does everyone think??

This is a little different, but I love it and it suits asschers nicely...I think several vendors have this type but this one is from Dimend Scaasi

Look great with one or two matching thin eternity bands, too...

Like this...

This one is from Stardust. It is exactly what I want except for an emerald instead of the ascher. I think the detail on this is incredible even if you don''t go for pink pave halo.

Gee, that is a tough call...a cushion halo vs a asscher halo...it really comes down to personal choice...has your gf tried on both shapes? A cushion vs a step cut like an asscher are two completely different looks. For example, I have always loved EC''s (they are my favorite) and I liked cushions too. But when I tried on a cushion in real life, I absolutely hated it on my own finger...however, I love them when I see them on others and online....so my personal preference would be an asscher halo.

I defintely reccommend going with your gf to see a vendor that can present you with both shapes so that she can see them in real life and be able to see what looks good on her own finger...I think that is the best way to decide...
