Looks like the second diamond has some light leakage but the arrows are good, are these worth buying conisdering the other factors are all spot on.
Thanks

The first one is tilted but looks promising.

The second one looks quite leaky under the table, as you have identified.

If you know the grading report numbers, please do share them so we can analyse the angles etc. :)

Hi Vin,

Can you post all the proportions please so we can evaluate these diamonds more fully please?

The first one looks better even though its tilted. But yes all here we want more details like to know the other parameters to further analyze.

The first one is better, but the picture was taken while the stone was slightly tilted. Nonetheless all areas have great light return. The second ASET picture, as mentioned, while not tilted, shows definite leakage.

Great comments above. We use ASET and I would note a difference in setups.
The first image was taken with the diamond sitting in a black cup. So light
passing through (aka leakage) would show as black. The second ASET was
backlit, meaning the diamond was illuminated from underneath. So light
leakage will show as white instead.

What are the ideal angles, and depth/table numbers?

The numbers most of us stick to are...

depth 60-62.3%
table 54-58%
crown 34-35 (sometimes 35.5 with images) degree
pavilion 40.6- 41 degree

34 degree crown pairs with 41 pavilion angle and vice versa (35 with 4 0.6)

You're number one stone looks to have a decent aset and nice numbers.

First one definitely better (even though it was taken on an angle). Second one has a major issue with leakage (so I wouldn’t go for that one if I had to choose between these two stones).

That’s what I thought too. When I signed up I checked the box to indicate Diamond and Jewelry Trade Person. I’ll report this post and see if the admin can add it for me.

Thank you.

Working now. Thanks for resolving. As others noted, it's awesome to have trade input and advise, but it's also nice to know it's a vendor commenting. Welcome aboard, look forward to seeing you contribute more. :sun:
