Help with ASET and diamond

Hi All,

I ordered a diamond last week, 1.7ct F SI1 H&A. I specified that I wanted an absolutely stunning diamond that sparkles and is technically a very high performer too. No sacrifice on cut. I also asked them to visually inspect and make sure it was eye clean and be highly selective in general.

So far, I’ve had the ASET report and I’m expecting the GIA too. From the ASET, what would be your initial thoughts?

The ASET shows some minor painting/digging on one set of lower girdle facets.
Overall excellent.
What are the crown and pavilion angles?

Thank you Karl. I’m trying to find out the angles and have been asking for a few days - will let you know when I have them. Conditional on them, you think it is excellent though?

Need more info, there are some combos that have good looking ASET images but have other issues.
you also need heart images if they are claiming it is h&a
The painting/digging is probably enough to move it out of the best of the best catigory but not out of the excellent category.
That is assuming the angles check out.

Scores 1.9 on HCA. Considering I asked for a very high spec stone, I’m not sure if it’s all good as the HCA number seems like a good start but the digging/painting and ‘very good’ vs ‘excellent’ gradings on HCA give me cause to think but I understand it’s not as simple as that.

Thanks Carl. I was worried about the steep crown angle of 36% but think I’ve got happy with it all. Here’s the Sarin too.

So here’s the finished ring. To be honest, I’m not sure it sparkles as much as some of the stones they showed me in the shop but it’s hard to know without them side by side. I’ll probably get an independent appraisal to make sure I’ve got a good one.
