I recently pulled the trigger on an OEC. I'm extremely nervous about cut (and color). It will be here tomorrow and I can't wait to see the color IRL. I'm new to this and I need some advice. Seller says it's a nice stone with lots of color display.

(EGL-USA Certified)
Color: M
Clarity: VS2

Carat Weight: 1.16ct (6.61-6.59mm)
6.62 x 6.58 x 4.18mm
D: 63.3%
T: 57%
Crown: 15.5%
Pavilion: 44.2%
medium culet

I'm having some buyers remorse as I was torn between two and feel like I *should* have gone with the other option... which was:

Color: I
Clarity: SI1 (strict GIA level)

Carat Weight: 1.16ct (6.81-6.61mm)
T: 44%
D: 63.8%
C: 16.5%
P: 44.4% eye clean

If you bought it where I think you did, you can return it if you don't like it. I don't know specs of OEC'S- I think it's a matter of trusting the vendor and visual assessment. Although, I'd prefer a smaller table. Do you have a link to pics of the stones? Is the other option still available?

The other one I asked him to exchange for already so it should be. I guess I should open my package tomorrow and go from there. I just feel like the I is the better investment.

OECs are a really personal choice you might find you love the cut/performance rather than the colour of one over the other. Some people cannot live with mid to lower colours, it really is individual choice.

I know.. I have learned enough from my lurking to have been able to rule out the third option for a possible fish eye! PS community knowledge :1. Fisheye: 0
