This is girdle information is directly from the AGA grading (1A-2A) for Princess cut diamonds (.47ct):
Thin to Medium (1.0% to 3.0%)
Medium to Thick (1.7% to 5.5%)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Sarin reports 4.0 (3.0 - 5.0).
GIA says thick to very thick.
When grading this diamond, should I refer to the GIA description or the Sarin numbers?
Everything else being constant, using GIA description (girdle of thick to very thick)
I get a girdle grade of 3A and final grade of 2B. Using Sarin numbers (3.0 - 5.0) I get a girdle
grade of 1B and final grade of 1A.
SARIN RESULTS:
ct .473
Length = 4.31
Width = 4.24
L/W = 1.02
Depth = 3.00 (70.8%)
Crown = 34.6 (10.7%)
Pavilion = 61.5 (56.2%)
table = 2.80 (66.1%)
Culet = 0.6%
girdle 4.0 (5.0 - 3.0)
What is the right AGA grade?
