I''m sorry I should of been more specific....I have a migraine.

When I mentioned the titanium bands I pretty much meant I just liked the idea of a band with the round stones. It seemed modern and edgy to me but girly at the same time. I agree a lot of the titanium rings seem very plain like something you would buy for yourself....I LOVE the one Valeria101 posted, on the left....I think thats white gold? Oh wow I just clicked on the snd link and I LOVE all those eternity bands....they are awesome! Did you look through them? Any fit your budget/style? I liked the all diamond one you posted as well. You can never go wrong with diamonds......

i love the ones on sndgems... but they are all expensive... they all are like 1k and up. I only have around 300 (maybe a little bit more). I''m sorry that your guys are posting all these beautiful rings and I can''t afford anything, so I''m wasting your time. It would be nice if I could afford that ring from snd though... the one devientdrow is talking about.

I honestly think they are only that pricey because of it being platinum.....I DEFINATLY think you could find a similar ring in white gold for around what your budget is. A $300 1 year anniversary gift is nothing to turn your nose up at!!!! Have you tried any searches like ruby and diamond white gold band through yahoo or google?

being too ''girlie'' is definitely a concern. i think the advice to get something that blends with her current jewelry but a bit more for lack of a better word ''refined'' might be the right direction.

personally, i like the industrial look of titatinum and would think http://www.titaniumstyle.com/stone-set-rings-2.htm #3-024 would be a consideration.

Oh I think #3-024 would fit the bill very nicely!!!

devientdrow... I''ve been trying to find a ring that is similar to those sndgems ones. No luck so far. I think those are JUST girly enough for my gf. The titanium ones are nice, but I still want something that is a little bit more girly than her everyday rings. That would be nice if sndgems could make that ring with white gold rather than have it only in platinum. It would REALLY be nice if they could do that, but I doubt they would for cheap (if they even do it at all).

FF,
Why not give them a call and see if they can do it in WG?? You never know, doesn''t hurt to ask.

I like those rings but they seem more like rings I''d get her for a random present. Shouldn''t a one year anni ring be a lil more girly?

Not sure... I would not ''clash'' with one''s style for a gift. It may be special in some way, but still has to fit in, IMO.

The thing about those titanium bands... [...] look like crazy for ''the'' ring.

Why ''the ring'' - this is not an engagement ring, right?

3-024 could be done in white gold....but this particular titanium doesn't look so industrial and has both the brushed and nonbrushed textures. white gold could be done the same. sort of dresses it up without making it toooooo dressy.

eta: 3-024 is the bottom one! i really like the contrast with the warm red stones.

As of right now I''ve found a ring from szul.com.

Er... the stones seem to be set shallow and crooked. Even in the display ring! I wouldn''t expect the actual merchandise looks better than that.

Regardless of what you may end up with, I would look for a style for which the budget is not too restrictive - otherwise it is easy to end up with something not well made enough to stand wear or some other sort of unpleasant surprise.

About the burnis set bands from SND... I suspect most jeweler could make one with colored stones. Even if you don''t find one on their website or local displays. It is simple and classic. Quotes may very allot even for gold or anything. It can only be worth asking around a bit for a custom piece. It doesn''t need to be more expensive than retail (many times, it is quite the opposite).

Btw. these seem similar - technically. The maker calls them ''sprinkle rings'' and since these come from a custom jeweler, you could have what you want.

With diamonds they are $415. LINK to source

The tiny light drops on brished finish look terrific! The smaller, the more amazing they look - like ''diamond dust'' literally. I am always amazed at how these stones are precisely set. For colored, I would have them a bit larger because color shows better and the brilliance is not there. The price is not much of a factor because ''relatively large'' here is still very small. Precision counts more than mass.

I never bought anything from these guys. I know of the shop because they made a certain very famous pin all razor blades and barbed wire! (no kidding)

those little ''sprinkle'' bands are quite lovely, ana!

Okay... for the bands I really want them flat, white gold bands. Why? Because she wears those flat band type rings (exluding her class ring). My girlfriend can be girly, I''m starting to think that you guys all think that she is this badass goth 24/7. She''s not. Her style is just simple. Tanktop, jeans and skate shoes.

To Val''s question of why this has to be ''the'' ring?
Well, for me... even though this may not be an engagement ring, it has to be ''the'' ring. I''m ANAL when it comes to "big" gifts for my girlfriend... just because it''s her, the one I love. For our one month anniversary gift, I drew a white tribal flower (the one she loves and is getting tattooed on herself) for her... it took me around a month to be okay about my drawing (it was done on a cd case... because I knew she needed one). I just want whatever I give her to be good.

I wish price wasn''t a problem, but it is... I am a full time student and at this point, I can''t work. Any money I have is really going towards school, and future rent (once I move). I would love to buy my girl the best stuff... but I can''t. Thanks the help so far guys.

How about this one from overstock.com? It''s simple yet different and girly.

Nice style... J-K/I is probably an understatement for lower than jewelry quality... True enough, this is $100 and the stones are definitely too small to show much good or bad. Dunno...

I am not famliar with the overall quality of these. Probably they give the money worse somewhat. Even if not, is not a huge loss and I wouldn''t know where to find the same for less.

... (and lemmie just say you have the patience of a saint and the tenacity of a prize fighter)

Falsefaith ... I appreciate how important this gift is for you. People are clearly trying to help you out. You seem a bit defensive ("Don''t flame or judge me" "You think she''s goth all the time" "You''re wasting your time with too expensive items" "My present idea was ruined by her parents" etc etc.) Please remember assistance here is voluntary. People are taking their valuable time to contribute ideas to your cause. Ulimately it''s YOU who will decide what''s "too girly" or "too punk" or "special enough to be THE ONE". You''re young now and have plenty of energy to be "anal" about gifts ... but, as a friendly piece of advice, you can drive yourself crazy that way. Linking up gifts as expressions of how much you love someone. The love part and the attention part are way more important and energies spent in those areas pay off much more handsomely IMO. Don''t lose the forest through the trees.

Sounds to me like you already have an idea of what you''d like to get her and it''s just a matter of finding it. In saying that i''m throwing everything out the window and just posting some stuff I thought was cool and in your price range that you MIGHT like....just some extra ideas in case you can''t find what you have in mind. :

Like I said I no these aren''t what you have in mind I just thought i''d offer some idea of whats out there....most of what I posted can be found in stores in a local mall. Zales and Kay and yes if I were buying a diamond I woudn''t get it there but thier gemstone jewelry has always been good to me.

I'm sorry if I come off as defensive... but those comments weren't as rude as just quoting that one sentence. The reason why I said "Don't flame and judge me" is because when people find out that a person is in a homosexual relationship, they are quick to judge. I just wanted to avoid people like that, and if you believe that I don't get bashed for being in a f/f relationship than you must live in a very gay friendly community. And I do realize that these people are trying to help me out. I apprieciate all their time and effort... which is why I said "don't waste your time with the expensive ones..." I know those are pretty but they are out of the question, I don't want people to waste their time... when they could be doing something for themselves. The reason why I said "I'm begining to think you guys think she's all badass goth..." It's because it just seems like it, and I just want them to get a good feel for my gf.

I know you are probably going to say "you're defensive again..." But I had to set myself straight. I know you guys are trying to help, and Thank you.

devientdrow
I love that first ring... I would but it for myself, lol. It's nice.

Val
The ring you posted is great, but I found out that my girlfriend doesn't like diamonds all the way around her band.

I think I'm just going to ask my girlfriend to get this first ring with me...that way from now on I can pick it out myself and know with she would like.

Faith...in reality this is a pretty darn helpful forum with not much judgement on others, we just like finding and viewing pretty jewelry. I would venture to agree with deco that associating your love with the ''perfection'' of a gift shouldn''t necessarily be the goal there, I''m sure your girlfriend knows how much you love her and the ring should just be a pretty sparkly bonus.

i was just going to post that perhaps asking your girlfriend to be involved in this process would 1-take the pressure off you and 2-let her get something that she really will wear when she's being whatever self she wants to be.

perhaps you can cut out some pictures and put them in a card for her to make it seem special. then perhaps a visit to the websites that have been provided here would give her some more ideas.

and perhaps she already has an idea of what she wants and will direct you to it immediately!

there are lots of postings here in your price range and what would seem to satisfy your criteria....and hopefully hers.

good luck and please let us all know what you/she end up with!

eta: this is one GREAT looking band, ana! is that qvc or overstock.com?

I would be glad to tell you which ring i''ll end up with when it comes time. In a few months keep a look out for a post from me that says something like... "What do you think of this anniversary ring?" Thank so much for all the help. Much thanks because I know I wouldn''t have found all those different ring styles on my own for quite some time.

If there are any other suggestions please feel free to keep posting.

MZ and Mara, the flat 'sprinkle' band is from the Metalsmith site: LINK Same as for the narrow, rounded bands posted above it.

These bands are custom made with diamonds or colored stones.

The ring you posted is great, but I found out that my girlfriend doesn''t like diamonds all the way around her band.

No problem.. those rings are custom order. if the stones only need to show on one side, that can only help with the cost.

Best of luck!

FalseFaith,

It seems as though you''ve decided to just look yourself, but I thought I''d post a couple other choices...you never know where you''ll find inspiration! Not too girly, but something a girl would like. In white gold. Budget, $300.00.

Now, you might hate everything I post, but I''m just throwing stuff out there. You never know.

Princess-cut ruby eternity band with engraving, $295

Channel-set ruby and diamond band in 14K WG, $300

Faycullen ruby and diamond half eternity, WG $312

You said she likes roses, and while these aren''t roses, they''re little flower clusters...3 to be exact. Aaaand, in White gold!:
1/4 ct. diamond cluster ring, WG $295

finally...if you''re considering something sans rubies or diamonds:

Engraved Gold Band, $136.00
(Yes, it''s technically a wedding band, but I think it looks delicate and beautiful...something that can be worn on any finger!)

Just a couple ideas. Good luck with your search!

Thank you so much for the replies... I might just get a custom ring from Val''s site. Either that or a custom on a titanium ring site (cause the styles that are available).

If you're looking at titanium, I highly recommend Boone Rings (www.boonerings.com), he can most likely build what you want. Not sure about budget since his rings themselves cost about $200-300 for the simplest, but he has some great styles..so if you are not married to the idea of having diamonds or stones, he has some precious inlay rings and also some with wood set into them, very modern stuff!! Bruce is a great guy to work with as well!! We had my husband's ring done in titanium and gold with a diamond tension set and the original titanium company sent it way too big, Bruce redid the ring in a DAY for us (the original company could not AND took 7 weeks to make the first one!) and it looked even better than the first ring. He's awesome!!

Good luck!
