I posted this in the antique forum, but the more I think about it I don’t think this ring is an antique - so you all may be a better audience. I bought a pre loved Diana style ring from a great vendor - no worries about the stones or metal being real.
But it does has a hallmark/stamp on the outside of the shank that is baffling to me. I’m only aware of the French, some Eastern European former Warsaw Pact nations & USSR/Russia as nations that mark the outside of rings. I can’t see any other hallmarks but if the ring had been resized, those marks would likely had been lost.
The hallmark is an oval cartouche style and it rather high on the shank, that’s why I think it’s survived. My gut thinks perhaps an import mark, but my normal sources for info on things like this has left me empty handed.
