Ive been searching on and off for the last 6 months for an engagement ring. My main criteria is to find something close to 2ct, G or better, and eye clean. As far as the setting, I'll most likely be going with a Victor Canera Jocelyn w/ u-cut pave on the band if possible. My budget is somewhat flexible but I would like to keep the price of the diamond close to $25k but I'm willing to go up to $30k.

What are your thoughts on these two diamonds?

Option 1: https://www.victorcanera.com/diamonds/ags104092411001-2.010-g-vs2-ideal-hearts-arrows-round

Option 2: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3751764.htm

If anyone has any other recommendations, I'll be happy to take a look at them as well.

Thanks!

Excellent choices! Hard decision because it makes sense to buy Victor's stone since he is making the setting. But the WF stone is that very rare size just under 2 cts that makes it very appealing. There's $4k difference in price, but I believe Victor gives a setting discount if you buy a stone from him.

I think the decision hinges on two things...is having the diamond at 2 full carats going to be important or not, and what really should be your top budget for this ring?

I think you should also ask Victor if he is able to set your stone at this time if you do go with the WF stone. Someone contacted him recently and was turned down since it's his busy season and he is focusing on the clients who buy both stone + setting from him. If your timeline is flexible, he may be able to take you later in the year when he's not as busy.

Thank you. I just contacted them and you're right. They're focusing on complete engagement rings during the busy season. My timeframe is somewhat flexible but I do want to get moving on a diamond soon. Prices have gone up since I initially started looking last year.

I'm sorry. I love it. G VS2 is a perfect place and I love those fat arrows. You prob know but I would just buy it and let Victor hang on to it until he can set it. That's just me and I admit to being a huge fan of working with him and his work. :D

Sorry I missed your earlier comment! Yes, if you want VC to make your setting guaranteed, that G VS2 is stunning!

I would echo what others have said. I don't think you can go wrong with either stone, but Victor's craftsmanship is incredible and his G VS2 stone is amazing. So I would stick with VC for both the stone and the setting!!
