Hi Friends,
Your posts and discussion here are informative and helpful, which helps us to decide our first diamond ring online. However, it looks yellowish sometimes under natural lights, which really confuses me.
It is round, 0.8, e-color, VVS2, cut is ideal, polish/sym are excellent , no fluor and culet, but with indented natural. (this is its link https://www.bluenile.com/uk/diamond-details/LD08219491 )The only problem is that it seems yellowish under natural lights in the afternoon and more reflect yellowish light under the lamp. It is just not that white and bright. I checked the ID number of on the girdle is exactly on its GIA certificate. I do not know how to choose a new one if I return this one, shall I bought a smaller but IF one? Or shall I buy a one with only different clarity characteristic. Is it possible that it looks yellowish because it is indented naturally-even its color is e.

I am hesitated to return it and really appreciated any comments and suggestion.

Thanks in advance for any comment and suggestion. :)

I would be interested in knowing this as well, I looked at the specs of the diamond and it looks great. Not sure...

Why don't you re-check the fluorescence? Some diamonds have Yellow fluorescence. I know that your certificate shows "no fluorescence", but in my practice I have seen blue fluorescence in two AGSL certified diamonds marked as "negligible". Although not so common, some diamonds exhibit yellow fluorescence.

IF clarity won't make a color difference just drive up the cost. Are you in a yellow or beige room if wearing yellow or beige clothes when looking at your stone? An E color stone will NOT look any color. It is like clear water.

Diamonds are like mirrors; they reflect back whatever lighting environment they are in. I am assuming when you say 'under natural lights' you are speaking about indoor lighting? If there is a warm or yellowish tint to the lighting, the diamond will reflect the same back. Take it outdoors - that is truly natural lighting. Bet it is not the least bit yellow outside! I think what you are seeing is perfectly normal. You would see the same thing in a beige or gold room or if your clothing is neutral or yellow in color.

My e colour diamond looks yellowy in the supermarket lighting. In natural light it's white and in a white room ridiculously white! Is there something about the ring you don't like other than the colour?
