Help which setting suits this cushion better

The 2616 is very nice, I like that one!!

I still like the 2620 best, love the tiny halo on it and I think it would look great with an AVC. Thelast one you posted, 2616 is also really nice

I vote for the 2638. :sun:

Not to make things more complicated, but what about something like this from Singlestone?

Of those you have posted I vote for the 2616. I also like the Singlestone posted by E B. I understand that their settings are quite pricey but they really excel at vintage looks.

Have you tried going to a b&m store and trying different settings on? It helps me to visualize the different possibilities.

Thanks for all your replies, really helpful to get others views..

@Mogster - Yeah Ive been to some b&m's to try on settings but there are none that have Tacori (only one tacori distributer in europe" and they are in London, Im in Ireland) or really good vintage settings nearbytry, thats why Im finding it hard, dont want to make a costly 'mistake' with living in UK much harder trying to source a US setting..

@E.B: Thanks also for your suggestion, just been on Single stone website,... hadnt seen it before and totally drooled over most of them, another avenue to explore, their settings are totally gorgeous, but there is no side view on the website, might have to ask for some more photos, I really want to know if its a high or low setting as really low settings do nothing for my small hands/fingers...

@woofmama: I like the 2616 the most from the top but not sure the side view, but then again who will really see that once I have a wedding band on too I suppose

Ahh too many beautiful options, spoilt I am for choice, now thinking ooh maybe the halo again or what about a split shank, seriously I have never experienced such indecision in my life!

LOL, it takes some of us a really long time--I took 3 years to decide on a setting. So don't worry, you are in good company here on PS.

After ridiculous amount of trawling through Tacori rings I think Ive found THE ONE!!
Ive decided I want to go with Tacori as I really like the fact I can upgrade later and trade the setting back in, that really appeals to me knowing how indecisive I seem to be

So I think I have found a vintage looking setting with miligrain, IN BUDGET, and would look good with a cushion, I think it looks a little bit Single stone...what do you think?...I like the chunky prongs
Tacori 2536?

So I have narrowed it down to this one, the 2616 or the 2620 LOL :)

You have posted a lot of gorgeous settings. I was all over the singlestone one EB just posted on June 3, but now seeing the 2536 --- this one gets my vote hands down! For my taste, it has a split shank which I find more unique and I love the prongs - they seem more antique, almost like those JuneBug has on her ring. And I really love the (i don't know how to describe it...) but it looks kind of like a ribbon of pave weaving behind the prong... that little detail 'sold' me on that setting!

The last Tacori you posted(2536) is very unique and I do really like it. But think I still prefer the 2616. Either would be fabulous with your AVC. Can't wait to see what you decide.

2536!! This setting is TDF!! I haven't seen one like it by Tacori and it does look very single stone-ish! I love it! Now listen to me.....You needto stop looking now. If this is the one that makes your heart go pitter patter, then run with it, don't look back because you are only going to second and third guess yourself. ;)) I didn't know that you could trade in your tacori either, that's pretty cool! =)

I'm still a fan of the 2620 ... is that not in budget?

Don't get me wrong though ... I think an AVC would look great in the 2536, and as you say, there is nothing stopping you switching over to a different tacori setting later on if you felt like a change.

I would love to know more about the Tacori upgrade policy. I had been looking into a mini e-ring upgrade, and nothing was ever mentioned to me about being able to upgrade a Tacori setting later, when I actually got around to doing the full upgrade. So any info you could post on the upgrade policy would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone..

@Christina: I know!! I said to myself last night, right thats it! NO MORE looking.. but this morning I was already finding things wrong with 2536, like "is the head too bulky", "whats with the sort of gap around the diamond", maybe its just the CZ put in there in the picture.. I think I must have commitment issues!

@CarotLover2: Yeah the 2620 pave is the utter limits of my budget, I actually prefer it with the 2 sidestones but we cant afford it, maybe the 2620 with plain shank but that then makes it more modern looking...

So Im back to the 2536 or 2620,( ruled out the 2616, I dont like so much the side view but it is a beautiful setting)...'shall- I- halo- or- not' debate..think today Im leaning back to the 2620...seriously I have to just pick something and be happy with it!...Im encouraged theres others here that took years to find the setting!

And for those interested in the Tacori policy on trading setting back in/upgrading I found this info from Good Old Gold - in this link below scroll down to Rhino's comment;

Thanks @novicediamond for the link. That's incredible - they'll give you 75% of the purchase price paid for the setting, when you upgrade to a new setting!! That's amazing! Have you had GOG confirm that that's current policy? If it is, I say go for the 2620!! If you don't like it, tire of it, or fashions change, you know you've already got a 75% down payment on a new setting!

I'm going to look into getting my e-ring reset if that's the case. I can't afford to do a full upgrade (stone and setting), but knowing I get 75% towards a new setting when the time comes is very tempting!

No problem CL2 :) Yes GOG has confirmed to me in the last few weeks that is still the Tacori policy but they didnt say the exact % they buy back, just that all their customers who did go down that route were very happy with the offer, think they have to inspect the setting first before making the offer...

Update :)

Well thought I'd let you guys who were so kind to reply know what Ive finally decided. (lol)..I asked GOG if the Tacori 2536 could be made with my cushion. My main concern was that it seems the round stone sort of 'hovers' in the setting, like there were small gaps around it, I asked them if a cushion would be like that. They said they wanted to do some CADS then came back a few days later to say yes it could be done and no they didnt think there would be any gaps...

However in those few days I sort of (in true setting phobia style) went off it, I went off the side profile, Im not sure why and I just felt nervous going for a setting that hadnt seem to have been done before with a cushion ( or that I could see photo's of) ...then I stumbled across this ladies thread and BAM! I hope its OK to repost her thread and photo? Hope she doesnt mind as it was my inspiration..Her OEC halo plain shank was incredible.........blew me away..

That was it for me, the missing piece, I really wanted the Halo but with the plain shank, I realised for me it makes the centre stone sort of shine and seeing as mine is under a carat thought that would be good, just something about the shiny metal contrast to the Halo and stone that I like , plus its cheaper so I was happier seeing as we have to pay VAT on it entering UK.. Just cant get away from the 2620 with the tall crown of the AVC, It seems so snug and secure and safe in there...

So today I ordered the 2620 with plain shank - I will post it with my M AVC when I get it over in SMTB..

Thanks again for all your help and views, so glad to have finally decided on something ...it feels good! Just cant wait to see the ring, wont actually be getting to wear it yet, as will be giving to the boyfriend until our engagement but we want to be engaged by the end of this year...Im so happy he let me pick the ring!

Awesome choice! Halo with a plain shank is my favorite look too, i'm getting one myself. Can't wait to see your ring!

Super pleased for you ... it's a nice compromise and will look stunning. Looking forward to seeing photos!

I spoke to GOG about the Tacori buy back scheme. They said the maximum I could possibly receive back is 37.5% ... so not so great after all!
