Hello gem friends,
I am new to this gemstone sub group. I only recently collecting color gems. Recently I acquired the emerald/diamonds tennis bracelet and I love layering with my other bangles. I love the green color so I went to local pawnshop to see if I was lucky enough to score emerald ring. I stumbled on this ring and got it for $95 with 14kt yellow gold and natural diamond for those tweenzy accent side stones. I love this ring and I think it goes well with the bracelet.

Since it’s pawnshop, they can’t confirm gemstone. I know it’s not emerald. I don’t have the perisidium gem tester.
I tested with the sewing needle trying to scratch the surface but it didn’t scratch. It seems to have bubbles... mostly bubbles are circle, but at some angles it does not seem circular.

Could it be tourmaline or tsavorite? Or is it glass? Could you please help me identify?

I’m not sure what those inclusions are, but it could be chrome diopside, which is an inexpensive green gem a bit on the soft side, or color treated volcanic glass.

I think the ring is really really pretty regardless of the center stone’s pedigree

Thank you all for taking a look. I thought it’s glass too. I still love it regardless.

I wonder if it’s Helenite.

Moldavite is a natural glass gem formed from an asteroid collision millions of years ago. It’s more olive in color though.

I am guessing glass because it has rounded facet junction.
