Help! Vintage his and hers wedding bands?

Hi there, knowledgeable people of Pricescope.

My fiance has expressed an interest in finding vintage matching his-and-hers wedding bands. Just something pretty plain and simple. Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as vendors go? All I've seen so far are a few things on ebay. I have heard that mens' wedding rings in general weren't that common until WWII, so maybe I am setting myself up for a wild goose chase here? LOL

Matching how? Same look, or same brand?

I think you'll have trouble buying both together, but if you both want simple bands but the same look and are willing to purchase from separate vendors it could work!

You're correct, men's wedding bands didn't used to be very popular.

And the likelihood of you finding matching bands in both of your sizes is even slimmer. I am worried about the high price of gold these days and people selling their old jewelry, if we'll have any vintage pieces left. Pawn shops might be another place to check. Good luck.

By vintage I'm sure you don't mean the fab 1970s ones my mother has for sale!

Other than ebay, try pawn and local antique stores. Perhaps etsy and topazery. I think you'll have a better chance if you want similar bands in the same metal - like both have 3mm plain white gold bands, rather than the exact match with brands and dome height.

I'd start by calling vendors who regularly deal in vintage goods.

Here's a list that collier started.

It may be tough to find a matched set. Would you consider a well made reproduction? If you want something simple, there are many vendors who work in an antique or vintage style.

James Meyer does beautiful work-very simple with a nod to the past.

Single Stone does lovely work as well.

Green Lake is another option-great engraving.
