Usually when I play around with stones, I aim for about a 1.1 or so on the HCA. But I just did one and it scored a .5. Is that better? Worse? I feel diamond tech challenged :lol-2:

The functionality of the HCA does not change when calculating mined or lab grown diamonds.
Here are the “safe” stats that most PS members would recommend:
Table : 54 - 58
Depth : 60 - 62.3
Crown : 34 - 35

Pavillion: 40.6 - 40.9
Note.... with a shallow Crown Angle like 34 you want to pair that with a Pavillion Angle like 40.8 to 40.9 and vice versa a Crown with 35 you pair that with a Pavillion of 40.6
These angles are complimentary.

Feel free to post pics of your choices. We have some great members like @DejaWiz that love giving feedback and sharing their knowledge

HCA is a rejection tool, not a selection tool, so as long as it scores under 2, it's worth further evaluation with an Ideal-Scope or ASET image. Some stones may be better for pendants or earrings due to their proportions.

This one scored the .5

This one scored a 1.5

Those are the two I had whittled it down to.

I personally like to stick with 40.6-40.9 pavilion, as there can sometimes be obstruction issues below that.

Might I suggest this stone as an alternative to the 2.02? It's cheaper than the James Allen stone, has a GCAL 8x report, HPHT, with arguably perfect proportions.

Hello, 101116!
$6k will get this validated performer with a GCAL 8X grading report:

Ohhh... I like the 2.5! These are both lovely options! Thank you! I will have to check Adiamor's return policy. Thank you so much!

Awesome, thank you! =)2

You're very welcome!
Please put that beautiful 2.50 on hold (as well as any others that made your short list) so that they don't get anonymously sniped.
