Looks like it should be a slide, and the outer arms would lock the pieces together?

That figure 8 thing on the bottom.....maybe press on it to release?

have you tried squeezing this part down and then pulling?

On this bracelet I have to push down on the little bar (hard to see in photo) which compresses the piece that slides into the opposite side, and then pull. I'm wondering if that space I circled on yours operates to compress that "tongue" piece so you can pull it out? Or maybe the figure 8 thing does that like @stracci2000 mentioned.

The little arms go over the little gold spheres and act like a safety catch.

why are some bracelet catches so darn hard to work ?:x2
i have one that i had to remove to try on a bracelet at the jewelers once
when helping me put my one back on the lady asked me how on earth does it do back up?

That's what I would suggest too, in that it is a tongue and box clasp, and the section you circled in red is the part of the tongue that one presses down to slide out the tongue, very cleverly disguised as a section of the bracelet which is very lovely.

Thank you all, I think I'll take it to my local lady to show me how to open it before I break it. @dk168 , thank you! It was from a local estate sale and it's my first diamond bracelet. I also grabbed an emerald ring, listed as aqua. The lady had an amazing jewelry and fragrance collection, maybe 50 bottles, a lot of them original and discontinued. She's going into a retirement house so the family is selling everything :/

Oh, such lucky finds! Enjoy your new beauties.

@RRfromR Just curious if you've had any luck getting it open?

what a shame we live in such a world that the old dear can't wear all her fineary while in the oldies home

You found two beautiful pieces! I love the emerald ring.

Sadly, it is inadvisable to keep valuable jewellery in a care home due to the risk of theft, or for the carers to be accused of theft due to failing memories/dementia etc...

Look for the nubs on the side of the latch, and the arrow should be right there.

+1 - look for the two flip away catches and the arrow should be there.

everytime i open this thread i wish you had given it a kinder title to yourself RR
@RRfromR have you been wearing it ?
and how have you been getting on getting it on and off ?

@Daisys and Diamonds I was joking :) I'm not great with my fine motor skills. I've been practicing taking it off, the jeweler showed me the spring that opens it - it's like an arrow on top, but covered in diamonds. It's an old bracelet, I bet the newer ones have an easier mechanism.

GORGEOUS pieces! Thank you for publishing your feelings of ineptitude. I live there.
You'll get it and be fine, and it'll be SO worth it.
