A full open bar makes no sense for our wedding for a variety of reasons, so we''ve decided to go the wine, beer, and signature cocktail route. The thing is, is that I''m totally stuck as to what our signature cocktail should be! I''d like something yummy and fruity, but not overly sweet. Something guy friendly. Color doesn''t matter. Oh, and no mojitos (I just don''t like ''em). Suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

madras are pretty guy friendly and pretty....vodka, orange juice, and cranberry.

I'm planning on doing something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue for our signature drinks. That way, there are four options guest can choose from.

If you're only doing one, I really like Bellini cocktails.

ETA: Hmmm, I don't think Bellini's are 'guy friendly'. How about doing something with Sangria? Or a Flirtini cocktail made with vodka, champagne and pineapple juice.

oh...just thought of this one too...its VERY strong but so yummy!

Its from a restaurant in atlanta, One Midtown Kitchen..Their signature martini is vodka, sparkling rose wine, and a frozen grape. IT is beyond amazing!

If you want guy friendly, maybe a variation on a whiskey or vodka sour?

We are actually having a signiture drink as well. Our venue offers it to help keep crowds from the bar, I think. Anyway, I''m thinking of doing something pretty easy. Its my grandfathers daquari recipie. I serve it every summer when we have partys and people LOVE it. And, its not that complicated. You have to tell people to watch it though because you can''t really taste the liquor.

You need quite a big jug to make the full recipie. I usually use one of those lemonade type jugs with the spout at the bottom. I figured that you''d probably want to try it at home before hand. It is one can of lemonade, one can of limeaid and a whole big jug of white rum. I forget what the big bottle is called but the one that is double the normal size liquor bottle. Wow, I must really be getting old. Anyway, I usually add fresh lemon and lime slices. It looks like margaritas but its rum and the lemon lime mixture tastes really good. In my experience its a pretty good guy friendly drink. My FI friends are the ones that suggested it for the wedding.

My SO and I love this one...

2 shots coconut rum
1 shot of part dark rum
1 part pineapple juice
1 part orange juice...
I think it''s called a Caribbean baybreeze...

We had a signature cocktail to keep the guests from rushing to the bar after the ceremony and I was really surprised by how many guys liked it and went for seconds. It was a white cranberry cosmo. It was white cran juice and vodka layered with hynnotiq to make it aqua blue (our color).

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! The white cranberry cosmo sounds fab, and so does the flirtini. I''m strangely drawn to these for fear of spilling a colorful drink on my dress.

I guess that should be the last thing I worry about. Hmmm...wonder what the flirtini would taste like with guava juice instead of pineapple...?
