I have found a BGD with blue fluorescence and was hoping to get some advice on weather to proceed with this diamond. I am concerned that the diamonds very strong blue fluorescence may be visible through a blue hue when in direct sunlight or may be slightly cloudy. Would you hesitate in buying a Brian Gavin Blue that is very strong in its fluorescence? I also would like to know your general thoughts as to if this is a good buy? They have told me it is 100% eye clean!

Thanks

In a nutshell, no, most of the time the fluor will not make the diamond appear hazy or milky. Some people do perceive a blue hue in high fluor lighting situations but many interpret this as a blue white colour.

But I'm not good at explaining this stuff, I recommend you read this: https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/diamond-flourescence

and this, for more examples:

And if you really want, you can look at this stone which has strong blue fluor and shows it in a number of different lighting situations outdoors: http://jewelsbyericagrace.smugmug.com/Jewelry/Rings-Antique-Vintage/110ct-est-Old-European-Cut/26076320_G8W9w2#!i=2206862997&k=LqPbtXw

I agree with Maccer.. Any diamonds that is Medium Fluorescence and above must be seen in person to tell if it will turn hazy.
