Help - quest to replace stolen Edwardian engagement ring

Maybe I can tap into the collective knowledge of this forum - I am heartsick that the heirloom engagement ring my husband gave me was stolen several years ago, further distressed that we did not have it insured or even adequately documented, and what's even worse, it was almost certainly stolen by people who had no concept of its worth. It may have ended up being pawned or even tossed. I have no hope of ever recovering it.

HOWEVER, I would like to find a replacement - even if it takes decades to find something similar enough (and something that I could hope to eventually afford).

To begin with, I need help DESCRIBING it. I've started collecting images of similar rings - or at least rings with examples of similar features. I know it was platinum, Edwardian (it was my husband's mother's mother's engagement ring from the 1910's),but could have easily been mis-identified as 'art-deco', with a 0.8 carat solitaire diamond. The stone was not perfect, had some flaws, and even a little scratch. The ring had been stretched to fit over his grandmother's arthritic knuckles at some point, which, lucky for me made it large enough to fit my not-so-elegant, stubby finger - about a size 8. The prongs were worn very thin in some spots, and some of the original hand-carving detail had also been worn away by wear and the re-sizing.

Here are a few images that echo the basic lines and style of the ring:

It was like this one, but with a slightly narrower 'neck' below the diamond? And the filigree-type support around the stone was more like curliques than this ring's.
----

This one has a similar sillouette, but not the same type of carved patterns (the lost ring had leaf or wheat patterns on the band pointing towards the stone.

A few more than remind me of it, in some ways:

Any help with terminology or suggestions on how best to describe what I'm looking for will be appreciated.

Thank you,

V. H.

HI:

Are you looking for an "antique" or a replica?

Would love to find an actual antique, but would be happy with a replica if it was a close enough match to the original.

HI:

Directly above these posts are 'sticky" threads, with (show me the ) rings and lists of vendors who have sell estate and/or make productions. I would suggest looking through vendor sites, you may *just* find what you are looking for.

cheers--Sharon
