Help please with this selection

So I started out looking for an OEC, didn't find what I wanted, then I saw this stone at a show this weekend. Of course I love the way it sparkles.. YUM... The cert. is from EGL US, a little concerning. However I can not see anything in this stone, it's eye clean to me. I can see the arrows with my naked eye, all neatly lined up. It's the size I'm hoping to get. It just popped on my finger. I looked at in all kinds of light, indoors, outdoors.

With a 10x loupe I can see about 3 little black specks, and what looks like a smuge on the crown.

The price was good 24K. This is a big purchase for me... I'm nervous-excited.. I love the idea of a large diamond simply set.

Would love top hear from anyone on this.

The only negative is it's not returnable, unless it doesn't match the cert. I can't change my mind.. I've already returned 2 diamonds.
The seller is sending me the full cert., I want to see where the inclusions are, if that looks good, I think it's mine..

I told the seller I wouldn't take it if I couldn't return it, I want my appraiser to look at it. They have agreed.. So that's one step closer, but would like to hear from others on the forum.

I wouldn't buy it. If only because it's not returnable. I won't spend 24K on something if there is no return policy especially at SI1 clarity.


I absolutely would negotiate a 7 day return policy. AND get it in writing. AND get it SIGNED by them.

Also, there is no way that price is good enough to justify that return policy.

Here are alternatives in that price range (note that yours has fluorescence so it is a cheaper stone). Also please note that these face up at 9.2 mm where as your overdeep one does not face up that big.

SO BASICALLY considering yours is overdeep and has flourescence you aren't getting a deal. You are getting exactly what you are paying for. AND THEREFORE, you can find it someplace else, with a return policy, for the same price. So why buy from these people?

I think you should go with a vendor that actually HAS a return policy. AND preferably one that can get you an ideal scope image. Contact Yekutiel at ID Jewelry and see what he can do for you.


Just saw your second post. I still would go with a vendor with a return policy. Especially on an SI stone. No way would I do that without a return policy.

I agree with Gypsy, return policy is a must in such a big purchase.

If you are getting it in writing then the risk is low since you can return it.

Even better, try searching for a diamond online.

Thanks, appreciate the input. This stone is already above he budget. I was trying to stretch everything to get the size and quality I want.

I will check it out further.. I can't go over 25K, this doesn't leave much for the ring, but I want simple.

I'm checking on line all the time, so something else might come up..

Since you are looking for this 3.00 ct diamond under 25k, its gonna be a bit difficult to find one.

But try on these websites B2C, JA, BN,GOG you might find something.

I would suggest you to be bit flexible on the carat weight of the diamond or on the budget that should help you get a good deal.

Don't forget to ask for discounts.
