I remember a few months back you lovelly people deciphered the Chinese letters on a braclette for someone and im hoping you can do it for me now
this is a gold plated braclette that im guessing was my great Aunty Neeta's as it was in mum's jewlery box
Aunty Netta and her husband travelled to the East in the 50s when overseas travel was rair for regular working people in NZ
It had been sitting broken in mum's jewlery box unworn since either Aunty Netta or her sister, my grandma died in the 70's
i had it repaired and ive just given it a nice gentle polish
I hope the stone is real jade but im wearing it any way (had to get an extra who-dacky put in to fit my fat wrist)
havn't been able to find it since we shifted but i found it looking for something else a couple of days ago
Borris is the model in the first picture

My most sincere apology if ive posted these upside down

In order of the photos,
Fu, Lu, Shou and Jin (gold).

You may have more fun reading what Fu Lucy and Shou mean yourself :)

Thank you :appl:
I wonder if my Aunty knew what they ment or it was just a pretty souvenir?

Why would gold be the 4th one when the other ones are fortune, prosperity and longevity ?
Is it bad to wear it upside down ?
I find braclettes so hard to put on i never know what way is up

This is the right way to wear on your wrist to read it correctly.

Hths!

These connectors are still frequently used for bracelets, both commercial jade/gold and souvenirs (nickel, silver).

Thank you
I'll revert back to the sellotape method of putting on braclettes

I love this forum.
A funny aside: I do so many jade searches that youtube started serving me suggestions for Chinese shows. Can I admit I sheepishly have been watching clips from, " Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace " in CC and am in love with these sets and the jades (although probably dyed movie props). Just so beautiful. It keeps serving more clips with clickbait titles.
