Finally ready to take the plunge here. I know my girlfriend prefers an oval diamond. What little I know on the topic I've gleaned from reading past threads here. I've found some prospects that look attractive to my untrained eye and I'm hoping to get feedback from folks here who know what they're looking at. I would appreciate any thoughts on these (or alternatives in this $ range):

A (1.04ct D VS1 Elyque Oval): https://www.augustvintageinc.net/collections/opulence/products/1-04ct-d-vs1-elyque-oval-1407311

B (1.22 Ct. F VS2): https://www.goodoldgold.com/diamonds/id/3712179

C (1.11 CARAT E-VVS1): https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/1.11-carat-e-color-vvs1-clarity-sku-7996928

D (1.35 CARAT F-SI1): https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/1.35-carat-f-color-si1-clarity-sku-7818124

A debt of gratitude for your thoughts.

As long as she prefers modern cuts, get the AV. It’s a smidge smaller, but will be much more stunning due to the cut.

If she likes antique cuts, still go with AV, but look at his vintage ovals. Also stunning.

If I was buying an oval it would be an AV stone. You might get lucky and find a super rare cracker of a common oval but it’s unlikely and very time consuming.

Of the ones you posted after the AV stone I’d go GOG and neither of the other too. Too mushy.

The Elyque - the only one cut for light performance.

Many thanks for your insights. If consensus is AV, can I ask you all to help me split hairs on these options? They range from $6.8k-8.5k, and 1.0-1.3ct, both attributes squarely in my "range" so I'm interested in your subjective opinions of which one is the best value and which one the most beautiful?
For what it's worth i'm looking to put this on a thin yellow gold ring with pave diamonds 3/4 around the circumference.

$6.8k, 1.001ct F VS2: https://www.augustvintageinc.net/collections/opulence/products/1-001ct-f-vs2-elyque-oval-1702861

$8.3k, 1.04ct D VS1: https://www.augustvintageinc.net/collections/opulence/products/1-04ct-d-vs1-elyque-oval-1407311

$6.1k, 1.25ct I SI1: https://www.augustvintageinc.net/collections/opulence/products/1-25ct-i-si1-elyque-oval-1676552

$8.5k, 1.30ct F SI1: https://www.augustvintageinc.net/collections/opulence/products/1-30ct-f-si1-elyque-oval-1915748

With yellow gold, I’d go for the “I” and save the 2k or go bigger in the H/I color range.

I would suspect this SI1 is eye-clean (ask Jon). I might suggest you go up in size (and down in clarity) to
get a stone that has Ideal light return but still on the bigger side. Actually its an AGS000 stone (Ideal Light Performance, Polish and Symmetry).

Anyhow, I would call Jon and talk to him about it. Ask him to send you more pictures.

Edit...I was typing at the time you made your last post. I'm good with that "I" also especially if you are using yellow gold. Again, talk to Jon
and see what he says about the two stones. The thing about the Branded Ovals is you dont get mush like you do with most traditional
ovals.

Did you ever get your Elyque?

the only one cut for light performance.

Hi Everyone! Having spent a lot of time here, I can understand how someone would get this impression..... but a statement like this is totally untrue. While it is true that many stones are cut for weight retention...it's also true that there are many cutters who are super interested in cutting amazing oval diamonds, with phenomenal light performance, and spread too.
