Hi. I have a 2.61 ct vintage cushion cut diamond and I am currently having my e-ring made. I wanted a 1.5 - 1.8mm shank. But my jeweler is insisting on a 2mm shank to ensure it's strong. I thought I'd be okay with it but now I'm not sure.
I'm also wondering what it would look like it my wedding band (to be plain plat band) and other stacker (diamond eternity band) were thiner than my engagement ring. Then maybe I'd be okay with a little thicker e-ring. I would like to know my diamond is safe!
I tried a search but couldn't find anything. Any pictures of settings with thin wedding bands with thicker e-rings would help so much!!
