Hi, I know Kay jewelers is a nightmare to work with, but that’s my only option now I have tried to make a dispute with the bank, but they don’t give me a refund and case store refuses to give me a refund. Here’s a link to my previous post, but I was wondering if anybody could please please help me pick a diamond from Them option is to be able to get credit to shop for a new diamond ideally I’m hoping for an oval GIA lab 2.2 or more diamond 150-1.54 ratio no bow tie (minimal) and not to warm thank you

What is your budget.

I would say 30k ideally lower but the max
Thank you!

How much do you have to spend with them?

The other ring was 21k

Have you reviewed the Kay choices and picked out all the ones that fall into your 1.5-1.54 ratio? If you could link those
that would be great.

I can't find any stones that I like that fit the budget and preferred ratio :(. I was hoping to get as close as possible to $21k, too.

When I look at ovals I try to ignore ratios. IMHO it's hard enough to find a well cut oval--further restrictions only make tje problem worse.

That said, here are options I think could be OK. My biggest pet peeve is bowties, so I try to avoid those at all costs.

**I'm a bit worried about this one being cloudy.

**this is by far my favorite one.

that’s the hardest because I don’t like when they are to round they don’t have much to pick from thank you!

I get that. But remember that cut is king. If you get a "mushy" oval without any sparkle or life to it, I think you'll regret it a lot

Yes, I was trying to make a point. If your chosen specs give us 3 cra$$y stones to pick from then our choice is "None of the Above".
I'm not sure what you expect from us.

The longer ratio you choose the harder it is to find a decent stone. Better stones are more rounded like round brilliants.

Okay, I looked and saw that the original stone is 9.75 x 6.41 mm. I know you want a bigger face up than that.

These are the best I could find. I wouldn't say that either is perfect but they are both better than the original 1.71 ct and the 2.31 ct you posted.

AND the prices are inline with your credit. One is under $21k. I would just get a cute band for the price difference.

This one has the added benefit of medium fluoro so it will likely face up whiter when exposed to UV light. 10.26 x 6.94 mm.

This one is a smidge more than your credit. It's an I color with medium fluoro and measures 11.28 x 6.66 mm. Not the perfect cut, but better than the 1.71 ct or 2.31 ct.

Maybe @tyty333 and @lovedogs can weigh in which one they like better...

@lulu_ma Definitely like the H/VS1. Pretty stone with good light return and not too far short of requested ratio.

The I/VS1 may fit the OPs specs a little better.

Yes I get that and I know I could have gotten a round but I don’t like the full round look going to keep looking and waiting maybe something bigger pops up to!

Thank you!! I will have them pull H I think I saw that I already the SA pulled it but I didn’t like the ratio was to long. Hoping something a little bigger pops up to around 2.5 carat

The H is 10.26 x 6.94 mm.

Is the the extra $12k is worth it for one that is 10.61 mm long?

If the ratio is longer like 1:52 the ring should be bigger than this! Hopefully one pops up but don’t think it will they don’t have the best selection.
Hope is to find one that has bigger table

The tables of the ones I posted are 63 and 64%. I’m not sure how a table larger than that will affect light performance.

To be blunt, you aren't going to find a good stone with so many parameters when your only option is a store with largely poor options that are overpriced.

You either need to relax some of your criteria or similar.

It's a shame the Kay store credit can't be applied towards a purchase from Signets other brands (Blue Nile / James Allen) - I'd personally be reaching out to the CEO asking if something could be arranged. Be good PR for them to have a happy ending to this story.....

I know I’ve tried we’ve been dealing with this for months and have put bank dispute in. But the case manager won’t budge she won’t approve the refund it’s been so heartbreaking

I’m having her pull the color H that was recommended the new SA sent these thoughts on if these are good diamonds? We are already stuck here I want a bigger diamond feels like I would loose more money if I get one and then pawn it to upgrade at another location?
