I need help picking one of these settings. I will be buying from American Set from Ebay and having them set my diamond as well and possibly doing an appraisal for my ins. For the metal choice i will be going with Palladium. I'm tired of white gold getting it rhodium plated and Platinum is too expensive for this girl LOL
So, here are my choices!!! Finger size is 4.25 (really snug fit) or 4.5 for a less snug fit LOL
the taper setting is for $262.00 being my top choice as it's so simple and it will let my 1.55 sparkler shine...and it's cheap haha
Oh measurements on this is 3.1mm at the widest part
Next up is the pave, it's 15pts G VS. The width of the band is 2.2mm so it's tiny but i think it'll be ok for my stone size. Price is $426.00, not a b ad price.
Lastly, is the Harry Winston repro with 40 tcw G VS baguettes. This one is for $917.00, still a really good price, but if i go with this one i'll have a wait a few weeks before i can buy it.
SO.....let me know your thoughts and why. Also I picked this vendor because they have been on Ebay for 10 years with 100% positive feedback. They are located in the Jewelry District in Los Angeles, CA and if you buy a setting from them they'll set your stone for a whopping $40.00!!
I was gonna have the store i bought the stone from set it but they were charging 150.00. Which isn't that bad since i went to the Shane Co to look at settings there and they charge $3.00 per POINT! Yea, thats $450.00 to have them set my stone, plus tax. I asked what might that $450.00 pay for, they said oh the craftsmanship. Which is odd because they don't make the settings they sell. So I called BS on that comment real quick! I literally laughed in the poor sales lady's face. Anywho, enough ranting..help me choose a setting!!
