Hello everyone!
Been checking around here for a while and learnt alot, thanks guys!
Now I´m planning on buying a loose stone from MDX.
Not being an expert, I´m wondering if this one is good. I think it scores 0.7 on the HCA.
But I don´t know if all proportions are right. Maybe someone out there knows?

Carat 0.81
Colour G
Clarity VS1
Total Depth 60.60
Pavilion Depth 43.00
Table 56.00
Dimensions 6.08*6.03*3.67
Crown Angle 33.50
Pavilion Angle 0.00
Girdle 1.91
Culet
Fluorescence Medium
Lustre VG
Polish EX
Symmetry EX
Cut ICE EX
Report GIA

PRICE AUD $3538 excluding GST

Does price seem fair? Is it a noticeable difference in colour from F to G?

Hi Emm and welcome!

Can you post the pavilion angle please? That is essential in order for us to judge this diamond. Lustre is not a term GIA normally use, does this diamond have a full GIA report?

As to F to G colour difference I can''t tell especially with mounted diamonds but if you are unsure see if you can view some similar size and lab grade diamonds in person, try to make sure these are of excellent cut quality to get a decent comparison.

Thanks for your response.
It didn´t say on the website what the pavilion angle is. I will try to get in contact with the MDX tomorrow to see if I can find out the pavilion angle.
I have compared colours like D to H which I can see a clear difference in, but though that was one extreme to another. Maybe F to G is not much of a difference?
but I know F is classified colourless and G is near colourless...

Yes this one looks promising, can the vendor supply an Idealscope image for this diamond?

Emm..welcome!
I am not really a fan of MDX.
I personally had a terrible experience with them when I first started looking into buying in Au (I live in Perth). I found their service rude and inexperienced. I have also heard similar complaints from other Aussie PSers.

I would highly recommend you contact Jogia Diamonds if you are after an ideal cut round - they have provided stones for a number of PS''ers, if you do a search on their name it will bring up those people''s posts and photos etc. I have not read a bad report on them.

by the way, I ended up buying my diamonds from the US, so I do not have a motivation to promote Jogia - except of course to hopefully help you find a better vendor and diamond

Hey, yes I read all the mixed reports about MDX. I just like the fact that I can actually go in and have look at the diamond before I purchase it.
Not feeling 100 % about buying online, and espacially not all the way from the US... probably just me, but would want to see the diamond before i buy it...
And as far as I know Jogia is in Perth right?
I been to the MDX office in Melb and they were very friendly and helpful, but it seems harder to get all info about the diamond, picture, all angles etc. Sent a request today and see what they say tomorrow.
If the cant provide all the info I probably have to look somewhere else...

While Jogia is in Perth I think that they frequently arrange for their diamonds to be viewed in Sydney and Melbourne prior to sale, worth asking anyway.

yes this is correct.

It sounds like Melbourne is an option? If so, I''d contact one of Garry Holloway''s shops, which are in the Melbourne suburbs. (Yes, that''s the Garry Holloway who invented the HCA.)

If you are in Melbourne then definitely contact Garry, his shop is in the Canterbury area I believe.
