Hi everyone. I posed this question in my other thread but I thought maybe I should ask in a new thread, too.
I''m almost embarrassed to put up these pics of me -- it''s a heck of a lot of ME ME ME. But I need advice, please. We love these two photos she did. And, as I said to DH, I don''t know if I''ll ever look that good again! DH wants to get these in 8X10 and I''m afraid it''s too much. But I''m also afraid we''ll regret it if we don''t do it. We own the discs (which we keep forgetting as we try to order every single pic!) so we can always print out later.

here''s one

Yikes. As with my other thread, as soon as I post these I think 5X7 might be plenty. ...?

I think I am thinking too much on these. I think perhaps I will get both in 5x7 and then we always have the disk. Also, I am terrified I made a jerk of myself by posting these. I hope I don''t seem that way! I just can''t make a decision these days.

I LOVE the first one. The second one''s angle is a little awkward to me, even though you still look pretty. 8x10s are really not that large, especially if you plan on hanging them on a wall. For walls, I even prefer 11x14. So, I would vote for an 8x10 of the first one (at least!) and a 5x7 of the second. You look gorgeous!

Oh!! Thanks facetfire. Have you ever started a thread and then worried that no one would answer your stupid/crazy/weird question? Or is that just me.

I totally see what you are saying and it makes perfect sense. That angle is a little wonky. Thanks so much for your help I think you''ve found a really good solution.

Yeah we''re doing 11 X14 for a few others -- I would never have thought of that big but my mom said what you said about that size.

Thanks again.

I really like both of them, but I agree with Facetfire that the first one is at a better angle! I felt weird hanging pictures of just me on our walls at first...but I LOVED some of my pics too, and just couldn''t pass it up. I ended up putting most of them in collage frames, or offsetting one of just me with one of just my DH looking dashingly handsome!

I would suggest though, that unless these prints are part of a package you already posted, or unless your photog. is going to do something special to the prints your order from him/her, don''t be afraid to use your disk to purchase prints on your own! That''s what those disks are there for, and you can often get high quality prints for a much lower price!

Hi M!

I love the first one, and I think I''d go with an 8x10 for that one. They''re both great pictures -- I just really love the first one more.

I love the first picture! I don''t think an 8x10 would be big at all. My friend just had her wedding pics developed and hung along her staircase at home, and she has an 11x14 of her in one frame followed by an 11x14 of her hubby and ofcourse, other pretty collages. I think you should go for it! :)

I love the second one! I think it invites the viewer to share the moment with you. In the first one, you look great, but I can''t feel what you are feeling. I can in the second one.

I think the main thing that will help you decide the size is to figure out where you will put the photo. If you want to put it on an end table or desk, I would go smaller. If you are going to hang it on a wall, where most people who see it will be at a distance, 8x10 will not be too big at all.

I''m going against the grain and saying I love the second one. It''s so natural, your smile is so gorgeous! I think it you could rotate it clockwise 90 degrees to take away the funny angle...

I''m also debating what to do with all the wedding pics....might need to wait a while as we are in the middle of renovations on our house, but I think I''m going to do a collage similar to what kama suggested.

Oh and I''m with Sabine, don''t order your prints through the photog unless they are giving you a great deal. I ordered some prints of our engagement photos from Shutterfly and they turned out great. I''ve also heard great things about ordering photos through mac.com, but not sure if you need a mac (as in do they have to be in iphoto? not sure...)

Go with the 8x10 either way though.....

I''m A photographer--- Both pics are super cute... the first one is more calm..but happy.. and the second one is very happy and fun!--on the second one-- would you be framing it horizontal like you showed or vertical?

also-- Are you going to be using a mat? bec that increases the frame size one step up-- so you print an 8X10... and use a mat.. that could end up being an 11X14 frame...
and then when you print an 11X14..with a mat could be a 16X20 Frame.
Just something to think about

You look great in Both pics! get em both and just make one bigger and the other smaller and for a diff room

I love YOU in both, but also greatly prefer the first one because the angle in the second one is a bit off to me too. I think as long as you don''t have your pictures plastered everywhere in your house you are fine going with a bigger size!

Thanks so much Zoe, Sabine, kama, katamari, karasue, blinkydoll, and neatfreak. I can''t tell you how much it helped just to have a little bit of objective input.

Sabine, I know I feel weird hanging pics of me/us on my walls.

karasue Thanks for your sweet words.

blinkydoll -- thanks for the heads up about the size and the mat/matte thing. I hadn''t thought of that!

Oh! I should mention that I want to order some prints because my photographer was so amazing in so many ways and I loved her to death AND she worked a pricing deal with us that was so generous, we feel we''d like to pay her back by ordering prints.

Easy choice for me. The first one is by far my favorite. The second one, the smile is more forced or something. And they have similar looks except the 1 st one is more natural. I think you could definitely skip on the second one.
