Hi,

I''m new to this site and diamond hunting. Did some research, so bear with me. I need help on deciding if this is a good diamond for the price. Here are the details:

Weight- 1.1
Dimension: 6.62mm x 6.60mm x 4.07mm
Table- 57%
Crown Height- 14%
Pavilion- 45%
Color- D
Clarity - IF
Finish/Polish - Ex/Ex
Cert- IGI
Cost: 6,700 - after bargaining

Cut Advisor stated that the Pavilion is too deep, but from visual examination, it sparkles and fire like crazy. I don''t even see the dark lines from top view due to the claim of deep pavilion causing loss of lights.

I think it is a good deal, but want to make sure about the cut being ideal.

Please HELP!!!
Thanks

Something seems off. I checked Price Scope listings for comparable carat weight, Ideal (AGS) and Excellent (GIA) cut diamonds. The diamonds I found listed have similar diameter and depth measurements. The pavillion depths ran around 43%, not the 45% listed in the specs on your diamond. You might want to double check the stats, and get a Sarin report, if possible.

Hi Nismo,

There is a bigger problem.

There is something incredible ( I do not mean amazing) about offering that quality diamond at that price.

Please check the details.

Thanks..

I double checked the Cert and it's 45% for the Pavilion. Something must be wrong.

Hi again,

My point is that a 1.10 GIA D/IF Ex/ex will sell for around $17,000.00

So that begs the question, what is this diamond, really?

You got that one, Brian!! I was thinking SI when I was checking thru diamonds currently available. Since the diamond was D color, the price didn't raise any red flags. But IF????!!!! Well that certainly is a horse of a different color. Even an IGI diamond wouldn't be discounted that much!!

Also, Nismo,....... Don't let your eyes fool you. If you haven't looked at a lot of diamonds, this one could seem very sparkly to you. Been there, done that. I looked at a wonderfully sparkly diamond that I almost bought right at the time I found Price Scope. It was a mere 68% depth and priced comparable to an H&A. If I hadn't found Price Scope, researched and learned, got out and looked at well cut diamonds, I would have way over paid for a lower quality.

Take your time. Research. Learn. Look. Train your eyes what to look for about cut, color, and clarity.

Thanks for all of your help!!!!!

For now, just ignore the price. I found this Chart on PS and would like to know if the 45% Pavilion would fall within the Excellent range of the IGI scale. Please provide your inputs.

Thanks

Can you take it to an independent appraiser? Does this place have a no question, money back guarantee within a certain amount of time? There seems to be something not quite right here.
