I need to make a decision asap in order for it to be ready by next week Friday, any thoughts on the better ring? or any other recommendations, i need the ring by next friday. Any opinions or info will be greatly welcomed.

I'm leaning towards the cheaper vs1 but will the cut above diamond be better or a better deal even though it's a vs2

The ACA has better ASET.

Is this worth close to 1500 more?

Thanks Julie is the aset that much better? Is the cheaper ring flawed?

Is the price decent for what they are, ready to pull the trigger but nervous about getting an AGS rock instead of a GIA. Thoughts?
Could I get the equivalent in GIA for the same price range?

Can others chime in, I'd really appreciate the advice. Thanks

Lorenzo

AGS and GIA are both very reputable labs and both are well regarded on pricescope, so don't be nervous about buying GIA vs AGS.
That being said there are differences in the labs. Here is a thread that talks about this https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/gia-vs-ags.29590/

You wont be able to tell the difference between a VSI and a VS2 unless you sit down with a loupe and the inclusion plot and look for the inclusions, and maybe not even then. So I wouldn't sweat that difference either.

Based on the HCA scores I would reject the 1.69ct stone. The 1.69ct stone scores a 3.1 (which isn't very good) while the 1.7ct scores a 1.6. I wouldn't consider buying a RB with a HCA score lower than 2. You can't pick a stone based on the HCA but you can reject stones based on the HCA and I would reject the cheaper stone you linked. https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca

I don't know what your budget is or what your setting plans are but I would go with the 1.7ct stone. It is going to have beautiful light return and you will never notice its slightly lower clarity grade. For me spending a bit more now to get a far better stone is always worth it. If it cuts into your setting budget there are tons of options, one being a simple solitaire setting now and an upgraded setting later, also lets you soon to be FI in on the fun. :naughty:

I'm not an expert, but I'll go for the 1.7. The other one does not have a 0 for light performance.

2nd this.

Absolutely get the ACA or a different ACA!!! Do you realize the ACA's are temporarily priced too low due to a computer error and unless you reserve the diamond now, you may see that price go up something like 20% in the next couple of days when the pricing gets corrected? I am surprised the corrections are taking this long, but they may be having to go through them all as it appears just ACA's were affected. But those are their very BEST diamonds, so it is almost crazy not to choose ACA with this pricing.

Definitely the ACA, but one question...why do you keep calling them rings? LOL! We're talking about two diamonds here, not rings. Sorry, I just thought that was kind of funny. Good luck in your decision! :-)

Hi all, I went with the 1.7 ACA due to your recommendations. I'll keep you guys posted once I receive it. Thanks again
