Help on finding RB

I'm back from looking at a few diamonds at my local jeweler. Thanks for the earlier tips! Taking them outside and into different lighting environments helped a great deal. But I return with more questions than I had before. He showed us a RB GIA very good cut, but said it was cut with ideal proportions. Should I still stay clear of this stone since it is not GIA excellent? I ran it through HCA and scores under a 2 with all excellent and a very good spread.

He is going to bring in a couple more for us this week, but I am more open now to finding something online and just having them set it there. I have started looking online on my own, but I think this forum is invaluable in the advice you provide so I would love to see what stones you guys would suggest. Ideally, I am looking for a 1.15 to 1.2ish RB, completely fine with SI1 or even SI2 if it is eye clean. From the Js that I have seen in person, I would be perfectly happy going down to that in color. Budget is around 5k for the diamond.

Thank you!!

We'd recommend staying with GIA Excellent. We'd have to see the GIA report for that stone to tell you what the problem is with it.

I'll look for some diamonds for you. But I am going to recommend that you have the diamond seller set it. Local jewelers will resent you buying the diamond online and then coming to them to set it. Plus it's more trouble to get the stone insured before setting.

The GIA number for the one we saw was 2194848333.

I would buy one of these from GOG...you can know you are getting a great performing stone on a budget:

These AVR's are amaze-balls..sorry over budget but a big disco ball!

I would also get a great performing SI2 before a so-so SI1..Modern Round Brilliants hide inclusions well:
This is a really nice SI2 imo:

Good luck with your search ...hope this helps.

In your opinion, is the higher price worth it for the true hearts between the two James Allen stones?

I also like one from B2C, but scores a 2.7 on HCA. Would you still reject this one even with the images provided?
