I did much research before purchasing a new diamond for my wife and purchased online at whiteflash.

Received the diamond ring today. The diamond is rated a VS2, but both my wife and I can see with our eyes, like three small spots in the diamond from the side view, not from the table view. It seems to be more noticeable than what I thought a VS2 would be. Do we need to adjust our expectations of this rating? Should we return?

Eye-clean is from face-up view only. If you want it to be clean from the side, you need to convey that.

JulieN is correct - only face up, which is the way lab grading is done.

Yes both are correct. You might find an s1 stone that looks cleaner than VS again they are correct you should ask if it is eye clean from the sides as well as the top.

The replies here are all great. if the inclusions does bother you from a side profile, consider returning it. At the end of the day, a diamond purchase should leave you with enjoyment and not something that hangs at the back of your mind perpetually.
