Help! Old european cut diamond

Hi guys,

I really need some advice and help. I am after a 1.2-1.5 carat old european/transitional cut diamond, D-I colour and VS2-SI2 clarity but all the ones I can find are based in the US (I'm in the UK!). Given that the stone is of a considerable size and cost I need to physically see it first. Any ideas where I can go looking? All the jewellers I have spoken with in London have huge over-inflated prices which means I would have to sacrifice something, my jeweller has shown me a few but he admits himself he doesn't know anyone who deals with old stones...

Any ideas or advice are greatly received!!
