Hello experts,

I am looking for a diamond ring to propose to my lovely girl friend next month. I'm a newbie so I have to ask for your help in deciding which of the following two diamonds, is the keeper:

== First One ==
Carat: 0.57
Cut: Excellent
Color: E
Clarity: VS2
Depth %: 61.2
Table %: 56
Crown: 35
Pavilion: 40.8
Symmetry: V. Good
Polish: Excellent
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Faint
Measurements: 5.33-5.39x3.28
HCA: 1.5 (ex-ex-ex-vg)

== Second One ==
Carat: 0.564
Cut: Ideal
Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Depth %: 60.8
Table %: 56.5
Crown: 34.6
Pavilion: 40.8
Symmetry: N/A
Polish: Excellent
Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted
Culet: Pointed
Fluorescence: Negligible
Measurements: 5.34x5.37x3.25
HCA: 1.3 (ex-ex-ex-vg)

The thing concerned me about the 1st one is the "V. Good" symmetry. The bad about the 2nd one is its "pointed" culet. In all the factors, I think cut is more important. As long as, clarity > VS2, Color > G, with good HCA score, it's OK for me. If you know other good choices, I am open to those as well.

Any input is appreciated/welcomed. Million thanks!

Pointed culet is the same as no culet facet, thus none.

VG symm, difficult to tell the difference between that and Ex symm with training and equipment.

Thanks, guys.

Depending on the quality, the most I can go is $2,800. The weight should be 0.55 to 0.65 ct (if possible).

For a stone this size I would say you can drop the clarity to SI1 to maximize size. It won't be hard to find a super eye-clean SI1 stone in this size. Then you can up the carat weight to almost a 0.7 carat, given your budget.
