Hello :) After being disappointed with an eBay seller, I was browsing white flash this morning and caught the glitch. I spoke to Staci who was very nice. She took a look at two diamonds for me and here are her opinions.

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2400045.htm

More tinted compared to the other one, eye clean from top, not eye clean from sides

High H, eye clean from top and bottom, missed ACA because of its crown angle

I have to wait for a few years to get an OEC if I get one of those, but I guess that's ok. I love both MRBs and OECs! I was originally looking at F and G color, so I am a little worried about the H color. Anyway, WF has a great return policy, so it wouldn't hurt to order and see it for myself.

Now I'd like to know what you guys think about those two stones. I don't know anything about idealscope/ASET. You help will be greatly appreciated!

I have to wire the payment soon. Any comments??

IMHO it's really a coin toss.

It could be argued that ES from WF is so good they are virtually all equal in terms of what 99% of the public can see.
If you are the type who, like many engineer types, like to use all the data and tools to nit pick (nothing wrong with that) I'll add this.

They have the same HCA score, 1.8 and the Idealscope images look good though I'd give a slight edge to the larger diamond, the SI1, on the left since there's a bit less darkness under the table.
I believe that indicates better light return.

Their Xs on the HCA land on the same spot on the AGS and GIA ranges. https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca
Again, the larger diamond is on the left:

The AGS report for the SI1 lists cloud, crystal, feather, Needle in that order, the first inclusion being most significant and grade-setting.
I like that feather was listed third since in my mind feathers might be a durability-concern.
From the pic I'd guess it to be eye-clean though I'd discuss that and the definition of eye-clean with WF.
BTW, this VS2 has an unfortunate crystal almost in dead center, not that you'd necessarily see it with the naked eye.
Normally I'm a clarity snob but in this case I'm leaning towards the SI1 if it was my decision.

So, do you want one grade better clarity, or a slightly larger diamond?
IMHO, if eye-clean is your standards then the SI1 is the one to buy.
Ask WF if it is also eye-clean from a side view.

If you have the funds and/or credit limit you could buy both and return one to see them side by side which is always the best way to compare, but I suspect you won't be able to tell them apart.

Kenny,

Thank you so much for making the detailed comparison for me! That helps a lot! I'm going to show your post to my husband. Traci said this particular SI1 is eye clean from a side view. I'm leaning toward the SI1 now. I wish I could see two with my own eyes and compare, but that's not an option unfortunately :(

This pricing error is killing me, there are many smaller stones that have been discounted! I wish I could buy one for a pendant.

You're welcome.
Thanks for the thanks.
Posters here often do not thank us for our time.

BTW, what pricing error?

Also, BTW, I have a 0.82 E VVS1 ACA and that thing is an absolute fireball.
I'm sure your 2 ct ES will also blow your head off with fire and light performance.

Haha, there's no way I can leave without saying thank you to the wonderful experts including yourself!

According to Traci, there are many pricing errors on their website and they haven't been able to fix them. For example, this stone has been heavily discounted. I think its original price was around $900.

I don't check their website everyday, but I checked some cached images on google and a lot of diamonds seem to have been discounted in the past few days. The SI1 stone I am considering was priced at $26281as of Oct 4th.

Whoa, the clarity/color combination of your stone is amazing! That's the kind of stone I'd like to get someday for a pendant.

How strange!
So they know some of the prices on their website are wrong (low) but WF can't fix them?
Customers must be angry when they learn the real price.

What a nightmare for them.
Must be a hacker...perhaps working for a competitor.

I have no idea when they're going to fix the errors. Traci said they would be honoring those discounted prices. It's lucky for us consumers, but not for them :?

WHOA!

Time to shop for my 10 ct D IF ACA for 19 bucks.

Kenny,

Ah, 10 carat for 19 bucks.... :naughty:

I just wanted to let you know I decided to go with the SI1! Surprisingly, somebody put the VS2 on hold last night or this morning!
I'll probably put the diamond in the Vatche Caroline or a setting from Singlestone.
Thanks again for your help!

Congrats on your purchase! I can hardly believe they are letting diamonds go at these prices. I upgraded my diamond studs and I am tempted to buy something else! But I really don't want to take unfair advantage of them. It is a very strange situation!
