I would really appreciate it, if you guys recommended a reputable jeweler in New York City, who can re-size my wedding band down 1/2 - 1 size. I would also appreciate it, if you could provide a ballpark figure of how much the re-sizing could cost.
The ring is a 5 mm platinum, plain, comfort-fit band.
Do jewlers typically return the piece of metal that is cut out or keep it? Is re-sizing done in the customer's presence? This may seem like and probably is an easy job, but I have heard some horror stories related to ring re-sizing, in terms of the quality of the work as well as some stories involving fraud.
