Help needed to choose between three princess cut stones

Hi All,

I'm new to all of this and after reading a little on here (thank you all for the education!), I have narrowed the choices to these three (I think)... After trying on a couple, around 7.5 carat princess seemed the best fit in relation to her hand size (she would feel self-conscious with too big a rock (thank god!))

1. 0.726 D VS1 ACA

2. 0.8 F VS1 ACA

3. 0.841 F VS2 ACA

Please let me know which you think the best option as I could really use the help. I am leaning toward option 2, but I have nothing really to go on.

In addition, I was thinking of the Platinum Vatche U-114 Solitaire setting as it seems clean and elegant, but has v-shaped prongs which I gather is important with princess cuts:

Has anyone had any experience with this setting?
One possible concern is the shape of the e-ring alongside the wedding band that we already have - here is an image trying on a 7.5 ct with her actual band in tiffanys:

is it crazy to have two such different shapes?

Thank you in advance for any help!!

really can't go wrong with any of those stones, they're all lovely. i'd go with #2 simply because of the slightly larger measurements.

for setting, it's really up to her, whether or not she likes the look! I'm a fan of non-matchy sets. the knife-edge with the flat band is a little out there for me but again, if SHE likes it that's all that matters.

Cant go wrong with an ACA princess. I would go with 2 or 3 because they both hit the 5mm mark. Great choices!

I'm not a fan of that combination of e-ring/wedding band. They just dont compliment each other that much. I like them
both individually :) .

What do you think about this setting? It's a little more similar to your wedding band with the profile being flat metal (still has a rounded
top though).

This is a .8 stone so this is about what your stone would look like size wise...

I would also send WF a picture of your wedding band and ask if they have any suggestions because they carry a lot more settings
than are posted.

This one may be worth a look too...

Thanks guys,

Yes, you are confirming my doubts about the two bands together. Thanks for the suggestion to contact WF with an image of the wedding band tyty.
Though less romantic in gesture, perhaps getting the stone and suggesting she work with a local supplier on a bespoke ring is the most appropriate option.

Its not showing up on the inclusion map. At a VS1 it should be no problem at all. The only thing I can see in the blown up video
is a little bit around 4 oclock towards the edge of the stone. If you want to know where the crystal is you'll probably need to
call WF and have them look at the stone in person BUT at VS1...not an issue.

I think it would be a great idea if you let her have input into her engagement ring. You could put it in the cheapest setting
that WF has and propose. Then she could work with a local jeweler or Whiteflash and make the setting the way she wants.

Here is the cheapest I could find at WF but I would ask if they had any other cheaper "temp" settings?

Here is a setting that WF did for an emerald cut. It has straight/flat sides. You would want to make sure that the thickness
of the two rings (height off the finger) was about the same.

Thanks again tyty33, that is really good advice.

I've asked what other temp setting options Whiteflash offer and am waiting for a reply, but if I need to spend a little money on it your suggestion is great.
Meanwhile, I've searched a little online about temp rings and saw these:

are they as scary as they look? How safe are these from overexcited hands at proposal, or is the tension pretty considerable?

That is just a diamond holder - should not be used for a proposal and should not be 'worn' - its more just for show.

Thanks so much for all the advice - I finally went for the 14 ct white gold 'temp' option so she can choose her own setting later.
Having gotten the pictures it looks pretty good (maybe I should have splurged on platinum for the 'temp' just in case it's a keeper :) )
Looking forward to seeing the real thing in two days... that is a lot of yellow for an F so I'm really hoping it is the lights.

It looks lovely! I bet you won't be able to see any "yellow" when
you get it.
