Hi everyone,

I have been searching high and low looking for the perfect AGS 0 Princess Cut stone of around 1 carat in weight.

I believe I have seen the selection of all pricescope recommended venders, and I was wondering if anybody could give me names of merchants that I may not know about that sell AGS 0 princess cut stones.

I''m hoping that this will help me make the most educated decision possible. Thanks for you help!

Start here, letting the search by cut db do the work for you, including big blocks of WF, smatterings of GOG, and just a dab of Nice Ice...
add in a seach from the Infinity Vendors, Superbcert/exceldiamonds, and Blue Nile,

Shake well.

Others?

Thanks for the response, but again, I have checked out all of the suppliers you mentioned. I''m looking for the vendors or merchants that you don''t see on this page all the time. Big names like Whiteflash, GOG, etc...etc...etc... have a great selection but I am still in search of the perfect stone.

Do any of you know of any other companies that will sell me an AGS 0 Princess?

Thank you

There are other places that I have heard have them. Like Jareds. But they are WAAAAAY overpriced.

We keep recommending the same places though because you are likely to get the best price there! Have you called them up yet? Usually, they have things that are not on the website yet or they can call in a few more stones for you, or at least they can help you personally select something. Much better than just checking out the website.

What you say is true... However, I have found 4 or 5 other AGS 0 vendors online with very competitive prices that are not big name companies. My goal is to locate more of these. Thanks.

Gotcha. Well just make sure that they have the references to back them up. Before you buy from someone you''re unsure about post it on here and see if anyone has had success with them before (or horror stories!) Anyone can put up a website and start selling diamonds. Wouldn''t want you to get taken. Good luck!

After having done a broad search (try it!), putting "AGS 0 Princess" into Google, a pathetic 18 hits come up...virtually all being either from Pricescope, or Excel.

So really, why bother.

Consider Pricescope an effective and authoritative "Consumer Reports" for diamonds.

You may (and as you say, have) find/found other dealers...but apart from knowing they offer them, what other ferreting out of them would be available to you as a consumer. Any references the company can give you will have been automatically filtered for you.

This general concept has been addressed here, too.

I think Paul from Antwerp will tell you that it is not an easy thing to meet the AGS 0 standard for princess cut. This difficulty has a dampening effect on their wide distribution. It is easier to cut a beautiful princess cut which is not an AGS 0. The cutter has less of a problem, the cutter retains more weight, the cutter needs less technical skill, and the market for regular pricess cuts remains large. It is, unfortunately for the consumer, a no-brainer for the cutter.

As a consumer, your choices right now are limited, but those who sell the AGS 0 princess are offering a diamond which is very lovely and makes certain folks very pleased. The vast majority of princess cut diamonds are sold to a far less demanding audience who may well appreciate beauty, but do not know or care about a cut grade.
