My girlfriend and I have spent a good amount of time looking at settings and stones in the 2 carat range and finally found something we really like from a local jeweler. Visually the stone looked clean to the naked eye and quite good under 10x magnification, but I am a bit concerned with the comments I found listed on the GIA report.
Shape and Cutting Style: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 8.15 - 8.17 x 5.01
Carat Weight: 2.03
Color Grade: G
Clarity: VS2
Cut Grade: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None
Comments: Pinpoints, additional clouds, internal graining, and surface graining are not shown
Depth: 61.4
Table: 56
Girdle: Thin to medium
Culet: None
I was quoted a price of $30,500 for the diamond, and most importantly I want to be confident I am getting a fair price for the stone. Any feedback or suggestions anyone may have would be much appreciated.
