Any advice???

Yes...

It is kind''a deep. At least relative to the AGS or HCA preferred range of proportions this one does not scream ''buy me'' by all means.

I''d guess it is a new GIA report with cut grades... but unfortunately this is one of those cases where the GIA cut grades proves somewhat lenient relative to the more established standards.

My 2c.

If you try out the ''Cut Adviser'' under ''Tools'' on top of this page, it will give a lousy score (4.8 - ''''Good - Only if price is your main criterion") and the chart near it shows where this one stands relative to the AGS0 range. Compared to that, GIA''s ''excellent'' cut grade is HUGE. It tends to accept weight-retaining deep cut stones, rather more heavy than what AGS accepts as top cut quality. And not only these are deep and heavy, but brilliance seems to take a hit relative to what came to be accepted as great according to the narrower ''Ideal'' range.

There is more about this on the thread linked below:

I ran this throught the Holloway Cut Advisor and it only scored a 4.8 - worth buying only if the price is right. This is probably because of the angles not being favourable. However it could be a pretty diamond, but the numbers aren't suggesting it is a knockout. I am not an expert , these are just my thoughts, but I would keep looking

This is what I meant... sure enough, mine is not an expert opinion. One reason why I did not hesitate too much to make my own opinion about these cut grades is that different labs do not agree in their cut grading. IMO, there should be a middle way between them. Probably easier to stick to from a hobbyist position who doesn't have to sell anything. Sure enough, this hobbyist also has limited insight compared to the 'heavyweights'.

This is about all that comes to mind about the 'numbers' and the diamond they represent: my 2c

[edited to add: forgot to mention what light model was used fro those pictures - it is a COS fading hemisphere, 14 degrees shading angle. IMO reasonably good representation of a mounted stone that receives limited light from the sides and none from the bottom.]

I was wondering about that... the price.

Hopefully you will not have to pay more.

How about this:

I''d rather have F/Si1 than G/VS2... but just in case there is one G/VS2 on the list at Wink''s that also fits the bill: cute cut, 6mm and not much over 3k. There''s no link for it yet.

weight: 0.78
size: 5.90-5.93x3.66
GIA grades: G VS2
HCA: 1.8-EX ex-vg-vg-vg; H&A cut
depth: 61.9%
table: 56%
crown: 34.8°
pav: 40.9°
girdle: m-slt f
culet: no
finish: ex ex
fluorescence: no

Just an idea. There may be diamonds with similar new GIA report with proportions in there at all that fare better cut wise. Until now, only few such reports made it on shop shelves and online since the beginning of the year when they were launched. On a quick search, I couldn''t find any better than the stone you have already posted, but my search was like 5 min worth.

You would rather have an F becuase of the color right? I guess what I''ve been reading about is the H&A cut diamonds.
I''m looking at spending less than 4500...but I was hoping to stay in the under 4000 range. The reason why I say 4500 and under is becuase I''ve seen some pretty nice ones on goodoldgold.com, but I was looking for something just as nice for a little less.
