Okay, I've narrowed down the diamond I like for my engagement ring, but I need expert advice to ensure that I am making a good purchase. It's an emerald cut, 1.45 ct., measurements are 7.63 x 5.75 x 3.52, depth 61.2%, table 73%, crown height 6%, pavillion depth 53%, girdle medium, finish grade very good, clarity VVS2, Color I, no flouresence, EGL cert., Price $5,090. Also, I want to put it in white gold band.
I love the stone - it stands out from the other emerald cuts I've been looking at, but I'm worried about the I color plus the I color and VVS2 clarity. Also, the EGL cert worries me - should I have them get a GIA cert?
