I think now that I hav officially reached my 6 month countdown date, I have started to freak out a bit. we are getting married May 2 in a church and the reception is at a eco-friendly venue that looks like a frank lloyd wright building.

I thought I was all set with pink and ivory, but then I started re-thinking. I started working on some inspiration boards and need some help. Which one do you like best? Any ideas?

I am doing my own centerpieces and have bought some pink flower stuff already, but it was not that pricey, so if I change my mind, I can always use them around the house. I''ve bought a few other pink things including thakyou cards (they were just $25), and flip flops for the reception for my BMs, but I can return those. And I did buy some candles that are pink and I can''t return those, I have to keep those. Needless to say, I dont want that to influence my decision too much.

OK. anyway, here they are.

Here is the pink with pink/cobalt blue

and cobalt/royal blue and purple. This will will require me to make the most changes (ie new center piece material, thank you cards, candles, etc)

I think they're all quite pretty, and would look nice in the spring. I also think you could keep the pink things you have even if you end up blending in purple - the tulip bouquet you show has some pink tones, and it's lovely. I guess it depends a little on what you're looking for and why you've changed your mind.

I will say that none of the color combinations particularly remind me of FLW and his designs. If I were you, I might be inclined to choose either a very natural palette of greens and tawny gold and ivory, or to take a piece of his work that you like the colors of and use it as an inspiration. Maybe something like this pillow? Or this would be very pretty. I just don't think Frank was much of a pink kind of guy, and I think your lovely, springy, English Garden color scheme might be warring with your reception venue.

Hrm ... based purely on my color preferences, I like #3 the best. However, based on the time of year of your wedding, I like #1 the best because I think it has the most spring/summery feel to it. I''m not a huge fan of #2 for some reason ... but I don''t think you could go wrong with 1 and 3.

I''m going to be honest, I personally like thecobalt/pink combination. I think it''s really elegant and different, and the blue makes the pink really pop.

Just my opinion.

My favorite is the blue and purple, but as another poster said, I don't think you'd have a problem working pink into that scheme. Although I'm no color expert, it seems to me that pink, purple, and blue could look very sophisticated and harmonious together.

ETA: Just saw your new board--I think the cobalt and pink look very fresh together.

since these are complementary colors rather than contrasting, I think its very pretty, but mayeb better for a winter wedding and the contrasting is better for spring???

and the pink, maybe its too much like "blush and bashful" from Steel Magnolias???

I wouldn''t worry overmuch about the time of year. I am getting married on the cusp of fall (Sept. 19) and I am doing "spring" colors of sage, chocolate and fuschia. Unless you are getting married in a part of the country that is really traditional, that is. I am from CA pretty much anything goes here.

I didn''t like the cobalt/pink at first, but now that you''ve re-done your collage it is more cohesive and it is different and I like it a lot. White/ivory are sort of "given" colors, so the pink and ivory needed something more. I like what you''ve come up with.

Thanks Marchswallowbird. Its so hard to decide on colors. My sister suggested I try pink and deep purple. What do you think?

I really really like this one. Out of the first three, I would have said #2, for sure, but I really like the lighter pink and the dark purples. Very different.

Ohh, I love the pink and purple collage too! After that, I like the idea of cobalt and pink, especially in your revised collage.

OOOh! May I ask who makes the peep-toe mary jane shoes? Somebody posted those shoes once, and I''ve been looking for them since!

Oh-- and -- I like the pink and purple combo.

Never mind... I found your original shoe thread.

And I still like the pink and purple!

That''s exactly what I thought when I first saw your board! I just didn''t want to say it in case it hurt your feelings... glad you said it first

But honestly, you don''t have THAT much pink... it would look nothing like that in real life.
Personally, I love the pink, but think it would look better with some kind of a contrast, like the blue or purple.

Thanks VRBeauty. THose shoes are super comfy. Glad you found the original post. They are Born Chantilly style shoes. I think I bought them on shoes.com or Nordstrom.com. I also think they have them on amazon. I think the color is called moonlight.
