So sorry I am coming in late with a totally different suggestion, but when I was trying to find a pretty setting for a reasonable price, I talked to this vendor about a setting. It was for a round though. However, it was around 1200 for white gold.

This type may be too old looking for your son's fiance. You really have to like antique looking settings. Something more sleek and modern may be her preference. This is for the entire ring, but I don't see this one as being much more intricate/complicated than the one I inquired about.

Can't wait to see the final choice!

IDJ. I KNOW Yekutiel can work with that budget. Tell him you want half moons or trillions and a three stone setting.

I had the seller leave the stone with Mark. So what should I do?

I think if you are honest with Mark- that your sonn is pricing out different vendors looking for half moons or traps or trillions and a setting for 1,200 and found a vendor who can do it for you- but you would love to work with him if it's possible..

the reality is- mark can't do the job for the price you can handle.... if someone else can you shouldnt have to feel like you can't go to another vendor.
