So sorry I am coming in late with a totally different suggestion, but when I was trying to find a pretty setting for a reasonable price, I talked to this vendor about a setting. It was for a round though. However, it was around 1200 for white gold.

This type may be too old looking for your son's fiance. You really have to like antique looking settings. Something more sleek and modern may be her preference. This is for the entire ring, but I don't see this one as being much more intricate/complicated than the one I inquired about.
