Without photos, the stats are completely meaningless, especially in an oval.

Here's a photo of what I consider to be a beautiful make and model.

You see, on an oval consider the make, and the model. This is true for all the fancy shapes.

This means:

A) The Make refers to the polish, symmery, depth percentage, table, gordle, culet, etc....

B) the Model- can't be catagorized by numbers. It refers to the actual shape. Some ovals are long, others squatty.

Some have graceful, arched top and bottom.

Others are shaped ..differently- and none of this can be determined without at least a photo.

Therfore, ask for some actual photos, and in any case make sure you get a really good money back guarantee.

Hope this helps.

it is very diffiecult to judge based on these numbers alone
but I'll do my best without seeing the stone.
the ratio of a nice oval should be 1.50:1

the first stone's ratio is approx.1.40:1 which in most cases
is acceptable even though the it is a bit short(not too bad)
and i like the depth of that stone as it is not flat.

the second stone's ratio is 1.56:1 which is ok but i am it is abit bottom heavy.

Are they the same price?

Yes the price is the same. The Si I 2.23 is from a B&M store, the 2.17 Si1 G color is from a friend of a friend in another state. The B&M store was not forthcoming with angles. My friend has the GIA cert and the stone is coming to him which he said then he will get the angles and make sure is eye clean. He is very easy to deal with and on price search seems very fair. Thanks for replies. Reds
