I have lost count of the hours I spend on here - I love love love getting lost in all the sparkle here.
Lately I’ve been trying hard to find the right addition to my little set but I have no idea what to add to give a antiquey look ( although my set is a little more modern?) ..

I’m confused for sure.

Any ideas ?
Or anyone else happy to share how they have paired the solitaire ovals ??
Kindest thanks in advance

This eternity band doesn’t suit ... too boxy isn’t it ?

I actually love the simple WB you have paired with it. Another option that I think would look beautiful is a simply engraved WB similar width and height to go with your oval solitaire. Personally, I am not a fan of pairing the above eternity with your solitaire and much prefer a plain metal WB or an engraved one of similar height and width as in your first posting photo.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I think you might be right. I’m yet to try a simple engraved band.

I’m wondering if a very very thin gold band between them also helps to break it up ?

Any other oval diamond stacker ideas anyone ?

Have you tried a thin micropave band between the two plain bands? That might look nice.

I'd like to see a 2mm high quality bright cut pave with milgrain band next to your set. I don't think the proportions of the diamond band pictured are right, the ring is lovely but too wide and too high for your set. But I do love the contrast of the plain shank of the solitaire with the diamonds.

Can you go somewhere with good selection and try on some different looks and take pictures? Pay attention to the height and width of the bands that look good.

It looks like you have lovely long fingers with a lot of real estate between knuckles, so you could do A LOT of different looks with that oval solitaire.
There are a lot of vintage style bands that would look amazing with your set. Even a delicate milgrain twist pave might be a nice look since you do have those long (I'm so jealous!) fingers

Thank you so much for such a detailed response. I really appreciate that.
I do feel the same regarding the diamond band not quite working with the set - and so the mission continues.

I just got in touch with Melanie Casey yesterday as she does such thin bands and I think that’s what I might need.
I’ve also got in contact with Caysie - I really really really want to find the right addition - and I’m still open to idea with ovals. Where are my oval stacking sisters ?

You have a gorgeous oval! Mine is a 1 carat F...

I usually wear mine two ways— Always with a pave anniversary band on bottom, then I alternate with an antique plat Birks band or an octagonal sapph/ diamond band that I had custom made a few years ago for an anniversary. I usually wear it the way the last two pictures show. I sometimes do wear all four, I will come back with that pic later, and a close up of the birks band!

A few more shots just for different perspectives and height/profile comparisons. The sapph band is a touch too high to wear next to the ering ideally, but I do wear it like that a lot!

... and me with my Minnie Mouse socks... I’m an early intervention SLP/feeding therapist and I take my shoes off in everyone’s house. I like fun socks.

Your set is gorgeous! I would perhaps pair it with an engraved band or with a micropave band. Both in the same height/width as your set.

Thank you to all for your wonderful opinions.

Kirstin- I adore what you have done.

I think thin is the way to go. Watch this space ladies. X

Hi Shicara,

When you said 'antiquey look', I thought about those curved bands, the kind that are popular for pear engagement rings. I think they would look good with an oval too. But, it may be more of an occasional look than everyday set :)

You can find examples easily on google or etsy that may give you a feeling of 'yep' or 'nope' pretty quickly.

Can't wait to see the pics of whatever you decide on.
