Help me pick the best out of these Diamonds

Hi guys,

I think I may have shortlisted 3 diamonds. Which one would be the best of the bunch, or do you think I should keep searching?


1. JA ($4630)

1.01 Carat round diamond

I think you should keep looking.

Diamond #1 does have an area of light leakage... I don’t know if it would have a significant impact in real life but I Wook and even pursue it’s potential further given the giant cloud under the table, as well as the comments reflecting there are additional clouds not shown.

Diamond #2 has a much better ASET but it’s symmetry grade is not Excellent (there are just too many diamonds out there that you don’t need to get a stone that has Very Good). Also, the arrows do not meet up.

Diamond #3 has a horrible image, light leakage throughout. Clarity is great but to keep in budget, I would go down on clarity and up on color.

Agree diamond 1 is the best of the group.

That said, you have some leakage around 9 o'clock but it's fairly minor and better than a good majority of other stones. The stones a little deep but likely due to the steep 36 crown. She's probably firey.

Looking at the cert I see a big grade setting cloud on the table and a note about additional clouds not shown. This can be a dangerous combo and needs further vetting to ensure there are no transparency issues. To me, the stone has a slight haze in the video that I detect on rotation more than head on.

Am I understanding correctly you are seeking 1ct+, I+ color and eye clean (SI1+) clarity for around $5k or less?

Yeah, I'm pretty concerned about clouding in stone 1, otherwise I would have probably purchased it.

Spot on what I'm looking for. I'd love to find an H colour, but I know that's really pushing what I can afford. Most I'm finding have an issue that concerns me and makes me hesitant purchasing. I know I may have to go down in carat, but as I'm not in a rush happy to keep looking. If you have any suggestions, I'd be really appreciative.

Agreed that stone 1 is the best of the 3. I would also be a bit nervous about the cloud right in the middle.
