I am trying to decide between a 2.5 mm and a 3 mm plain white gold band for my wedding band. These are not the exact bands I will be getting, just a size comparison.

I know which way I am leaning, but FI is going the other way, so off it is to the lovely ladies at PS!!!

First the 2.5 mm

yep going with the group, I like the 3mm as it seems to balance your ering shank and the height looks well matched.

Another vote for 3mm! That size looks great with your e-ring.

I''m totally in the minority here, but I like the 2.5 better.
I think it helps your e-ring really take center stage and makes your diamond stand out because it''s NOT a perfect match for the width.
So, now that you have opinion on both, which do you like...??

I think I like the 3 mm a tiny bit more than the 2.5 - but both are lovely!

I am also in the minority, I think the 2.5 looks better because it makes the whole set look more streamline and your diamond pops just a little bit more!

Put me in the 3mm group. I think it''s a better balance with your ering.

I love the look of the 3mm with your er.. however.. if you are thinking of pairing an eternity later.. I''d go with the 2.5mm!
+2

Or you could do 2 of the 2.5 or lower and have it on each side of your e-ring.

I know this isn't an option but I'd go for two 1.5 mm bands lol For a single band I'd go for the one that is the exact same width unless I was going for something vastly different (larger or smaller) because having something just slightly off looks slightly off to me.

Ditto. I always like the look of a narrower w-ring because it makes the diamond in the e-ring pop.

Don''t stone me here, but I''d like to see what a 1.5 and a 2mm would look like with your diamond ring.

Thank you all so much for your input!! I was leaning toward the 2.5 mm and was starting to think I was totally nuts, so I''m glad there were some of you in the minority haha. I feel like it makes the diamond pop more like some of you mentioned... but FI keeps saying that the w-band is the more important ring so it shouldn''t fade away (which I understand that the w-band is the important ring... but the e-ring sparkles!!!)

SanDiegoLady - I was planning on pairing it with an eternity in the next year or two.

I might have to play with some of the other ideas that were mentioned and see what my options are!!!

against the majority here, but I am prefering the 2.5mm and especially because if you try to add an eternity one day I think the entire set will seem quite bulky if you have the 3mm wedder, whereas if you add a diamond shared prong eternity for instance I think the balance would be perfect if they are not tiny, but not huge, sized diamonds.
