Prrrrrrty! It reminds me a lot of Scarlet16''s and CrookedRock''s wonderful cushions. Perhaps it was cut by the same person as theirs. Looks outstanding!

Very pretty!

Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback, stone_seeker. Loved your stone

Just got the other info:

Table: 54%
Depth: 62%
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: Small

Is the table small? Is that desirable?
Great specs. Not too deep either so it probably faces up real nice! Table is in what I consider my perfect range...I love a mid-50s table and 8-10% bigger depth %. That ratio has tended to yield some great looking cushions. Small culet is also a great touch (again, for my personal preference). If it sparkles nice, there isnt anything that would hold me back on this one if I were buying. All the specs seem to check out.

Looks beautiful!

Agree totally - it looks great. H color is what I got my FI and everyone says it looks so "clear". The Depth/Table ratios are nice so that it looks as big as it is. Mark likes it and thats good too.

Most importantly if you love it - go for it! :)

Thanks to everyone for your input! I just wired the money to ERD!

I''m still a bit nervous about the clarity, but I''ll know in a couple of days one way or the other, when I can see it myself, and I''ll report back.

Then...it''s off to Maytal!

Congrats! Mark is a great guy....you did great!

OK, so I got the stone today. I''d really appreciate it if you guys could bear with me and take a look at some pics I tried to take, and let me know if you think I should keep it. I am going to reserve my comments about the stone until I hear from you. I will say that my budget was about $3-4K HIGHER than what I ended up paying.

Here are the specs again:

2.09 ct Cushion Brilliant
1:10 ratio
H
SI1 (eyeclean)
Cut = EX
Polish = EX
Symmetry = VG
Fluor = none
Table: 54%
Depth: 62%
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: Small

Thanks a bunch in advance!

With my ugly hand, for perspective.

Prolly not good to have it on a yellow cork, but the best I could do on short notice.

One more - the stuff on the ring is the reflection of the trees out side I think, and some dust.

That''s it for now. Thoughts?

Coupla more, taken near sunset. There are a lot of things reflecting in the facets so it looks kind of odd, but hopefully a little better lighting.

I think its beautiful!!! I love the chunky facets. I would say you found a winner!!!!

I like the shape and I like the faceting. Now, it may be my monitor, it may be your pics, but it does seem to have quite a bit of warmth for an H diamond? You''ve eyeballed it...what do you think?

Wow, it''s beautiful, congratulations. Glad to hear you held out, I know it can be a difficult decision to wait for what you want. I''m also glad to hear you found a SI, they offer some great value. Love the small table as well, the cushion I found was a 54 as well. Can''t wait to see it set.

I think it looks great - glad to hear Mark found you a nice one!

I''m actually flying to NYC next week to see Mark to look at some cushions. Hopefully one of the few he''s got on hold will "speak" to me!

I think it looks lovely (and BIG!). Re: Purrfectpear's feedback on H colour - it is hard to gauge this on computer monitors, but if you have any concerns about the grading, you can always have an experienced independent appraiser provide you with a pre-purchase appraisal of the stone. It's also a great way to document the condition of the stone before it goes off to be set - just added protection for all parties involved, I think.

BUT, read Neil Beatty's fantastic FAQ on appraisals before you spend any time/money on an appraisal - not all appraisals or appraisers are created equally. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/getting-the-most-out-of-your-jewelry-appraisal.19367/

Anyhoo, I hope it works out. I love it and the pics are fantastic.

I like it. I love smaller tables and the depth is nice...more spread! It looks pretty to me!

Thanks for the replies everyone :)

Pauly - if you read this - your stone seems very similarly-specc''d as this one. When you had it independently appraised, did the color, etc turn up the same as what you listed? Just curious, as your stone looks juuuuust fine to us, especially once it was set!

------

Some people mentioned the color - that''s really the only concern I have - I spoke with Mark and he said that on a scale of 1-100, if G was 1 and and I was 100, he''d rate this a 60. So, a little closer to I than to G, but not much. Like I said, this stone was significantly less than what I had (re)budgeted, once I knew how much the Maytal setting was going to cost, but the other stones Mark found over the past month either weren''t the ratio we wanted, or weren''t cut just right, etc.

When I opened the package I was a bit surprised to see any color at all, and it does still nag at me a bit (though it''s not nearly as prevalent as it is in these pics), but my GF is completely in love with it (she wanted to see it) and can''t see any color at all.

The other factor is if we keep this stone, the Maytal setting will be paid for, in cash, immediately, and we''ll have some money left over. Not what I was basing my decision on, but hard to ignore

But when it comes down to it, it''s up to the GF, I know

And right now, she''s over the moon.

So we''ll see what we feel like after the weekend and the appraisal on Monday!

Dasman,

Thanks! While I didn''t buy from Mark (it''s a long story), I did have my stone appraised by him. I trusted him completely for an honest review. Mark felt everything was inline with the GIE certificate, so there were no surprises. He did tell me though that I had an extremely rare SI2 and that I got very, very lucky. That was nice to hear, it ended up saving me a lot of $, which I put towards the setting. Your stone is beautiful and I''m sure she''s thrilled.

-Paul

I would be in 7th heaven wearing that stone!

Absolutely beautiful beyond words.

Your girlfriend is very lucky that you put so much thought (and work!) into this meaningful ring.
