Apacherose - I'm not sure it's a simple as that..

Right, I hear you- really. FWIW James Meyer's policy seems more consistent and less discriminatory.

I knew someone wanting one of his pieces and he really only had minimal choices of so-so cut stones in colours lower than the customer wanted, so it was highly discriminatory. To get a diamond ring from him you have to purchase one of his stones. Having said that I helped a couple in Sydney ages ago purchase a ring from Jim and it was lovely.

I don't think you can accurately comment on vendor policies unless you know the full history between them all. And GOG is not without blame in antagonising vendors as the vendors are themselves....

I agree with you that it would be wonderful for the consumer if they all got along but it's naive to attach blame to one vendor over another. There are plenty of B & M stores that will not take outside stones so in the end it's up to the individual vendor.

heyyyyy... I picked #2 for you. Ask GOG about color, there are variations within color grades, what do you have in the H and I you are looking at? Who are you working with? You said you want G. H is pretty darn close, in fact, a determination within one grade of variance is the standard for appraisers and labs to be within one another acceptably. G and I? There will be a difference. I is still considered by many to be plenty white in these antique style cuts, but, it is not gonna be a G.

So, I went and looked at specs and I gotta agree with Arkieb on this choice:

It is right at your 'dream specs'- it is 7.78 X 7.18, a G, a lovely shape, color, size, and the right price, with the advantage of even getting you a discount on the setting you want.

The H at GOG is comparable, size-wise- 7.84 X 7.09- and comes in at 2K more. Try putting these cushions in on the 'diamond database' compare website- this H might look a tad bigger with the edge on length- but you can put in the dimensions, and your finger size and color and everything.

lol, didn't think it was bad, just found interesting that many didnt like it, yet it was more expensive. I'm not sure who my bf is working with, he went by himself, and told me he quickly met the guy from the videos, who actually made a joke that kind of bothered him, but otherwise seemed nice.
and trust me I know the difference in color btw single grades is negligible, Im only stating in the spirit of noting my ultimate preference, but of course, allowing for wiggle to accommodate bigger size or lower price.
My bf already sent the request to Victor stating his preferences, now we'll just wait on his response.
I also had no idea about that feature!!. I had figured that most of those tools were for rounds, but maybe that's just for HCA.

im afraid this one might have a bit of an obstruction issue, but every so often their ASETS can suprise you, and its just the camera reflection.

Thank you for these! I will pass these on to my bf. What do you see that makes them look mushy in the center?

Directly under the table, the facets just seem a little dark, a little less crisp

Ask for asets though. They are free, and wouldn't it be great to find one that wasn't a branded cut, then you can meet your budget and specs?
