I got this lovely yellow sapphire about a month ago, which I absolutely adore. Originally, I thought I''d put it in the Whiteflash micropave Legato (set east-west), but then...I fell in love with 2 very similar Beverly K rings from the Pearlman''s website, and now I''m really torn. My friends seem to be leaning towards the more simple one, but I''m not so sure. Keep in mind my sapphire is 1.5 carats, will be set east-west, and my finger size is only a 5-5.5. Opinions? Thanks!!!

Both designs are very pretty. The more fancy one looks like it might be a little bit wider. I think I would pick the simpler design for myself--no particular reason. Sorry can''t help.

Can I ask where you got your stone and the specs? I am looking for a yellow sapphire for a ring I want to design. Thanks!

I LOVE those rings and have been hoping someone would get one and post pictures! So they will make those settings for an oval?

Love your new stone. I prefer the first setting, but they are both amazing settings. DS asked a good qustion, can they be made for an oval? I''m thinking they can, but best to be sure. I can''t wait to see this baby set, it''s going to be stunning.

What a gorgeous stone. Did you purchase that from NSC?? I can''t wait to see it set.

I''m really drawn to the second one, but I can''t really figure out exactly why, sorry!

Will it be for a RHR or an e-ring? I think the second looks a little less engagementish, maybe that''s why I like it...

You have similar taste to me - I love all the settings you are considering! I don''t think you can go wrong. The sapphire is beautiful too.

My sapphire is from Natural Sapphire Company. Steven Bliss was wonderful to work with. The stone is 1.50 carats, 7.11 x 6.09 x 4.13, no evidence of heat treatment. It''s a little more obviously oval in person, and not quite such an intense yellow (but still very, very definitely yellow), both of which I love.

It will be a little while before I purchase the setting (I''ve got a few personal goals I''d like to meet first, and the setting will be my "reward")...probably late summer or early fall. It will be a right hand ring. The sapphire was a birthday present from my dear, sweet boyfriend. I''ve been in contact with Pearlman''s, and while it does cost a little more to customize the ring for an oval, it can be done. They sent me sketches so I could get a better idea, but I can''t seem to shrink them enough to attach them. Both designs look fabulous with an east-west oval!

Thanks for the opinions ladies! It seems like more people prefer the simpler design. Since my hands are a little on the smaller side, and I want it set east-west, it''s probably not a bad idea to head in that direction.

Ooooh, i''ve been wondering about that lovely yellow sapphire! Glad to see it''s getting a home - i personally vote for the first (simpler) setting. Looking down on it from the top, i liike contrast between the micropave head and then the plain sleek band -- i think it''s so pretty. (plus a bit less $, yes?) Can''t wait to see it!
